Anton Babchuk is having a solid season with Avangard. He hasn't been the top 5 Super League blue liner, but I'd put him in the top 10 or 15 guys for sure. He has a lot of talent and belongs back in the NHL. I think he will be back after this season....I don't think Caroline gave him a fair shake with all the demotions for salary reasons...

I don't get it; Kulemin IS STILL SLUMPING.

Will he get traded soon, because I feel he needs a change of scenery.

Calm down, whole Magnitogorsk cooled off.

I just hope he improves on his return (re: Grebeshkov) vs. declines (re: Tverdovsky)

Nikulin
- he's probably top 4 dman in the entire Super League. I would say Atyushov is also up there and the other two you can pick from a number of guys. I think after what happened with Kazan this year his chances of coming over are higher. Yes, he signed a 5 year deal, but apparently he is getting paid a relatively small salary for Russian star standards - somewhere around 500-750k/year. I know it's a lot, but when you consider everyone on Kazan's roster making over 1m, it's surprising. So, combine that with the team struggling, he might either get a raise or come over. He seriously consdiered it last summer.

Zubarev
- not much to update about him. He is not getting much ice time, but is still playing on the team. Part of the reason for the ice time is that there is now Emelin on the squad. Still, he could be doing more, but there could also be something in the way the head coach Belyaletdinov sees him - he doesn't seem to trust him with a top 4 spot.
Ah thank you!!!

In Atlanta we were hoping that he would be coming over for the last few years. Despite the contract issues, I expect Nikulin to stay in Russia.

Zubarev not getting enough ice time is maybe enough motivation for him to make the jump across the big pond.

That's the most proper way of describing it!

Looks like Kulemin is back at it, with 1 goal and 1 assist today.

Can anyone give me a detailed report on Nikita Filatov in the Division 2 league of the RSL? How is his skating, defensive play, positional play, passing, shooting, vision, physicality, etc?

seconded

we are sick of the rumors by canadians that he's a "one dimensional, 1-way weak small high bust potential" type of player

This isn't really a player inquiry, but it's a question probably not worthy of its own thread...

There's a team Russia jersey with the #11 on it and it has MAAKNH on it, except the second "A" is an upside "V" and the "N" is backwards...

I tried to look up how the Cyrillic alphabet is pronounced to give me an idea, and I got: Ehm-ah-ahl-kah-ee-ehn ...out of it...

Any ideas on who it could be? Or is that not enough info?

Thanks!

EDIT: Malkin? But I can't think of when he wore #11, I remember 71, 17, I think an 18...

It's Malkin, but I can't help you with the #11/when part.

МАЛКИН
Story goes something like this: Malkin's favorite number was 11, but when he got to Metallurg, the number was taken, so he settled for 17, which almost looked like 11.
PS: #17 is retired for Russian National Team, so whenever Kovalchuk is not part of a team Malkin plays 71, when Kovy is playing, Malkin wears 11 or 18.

Dmitri Kugryshev/Maxim Chudinov

I'm watching the RUS/CZE game right now in the WJC's and I'm just kind of curious how good these 2 guys really are. I've never seen them play before so I'm trying to get an idea.

Sergei Ogorodnikov

Anyone been watching Sergei? He had a rough stint in the AHL and ECHL. Where is he playing and how is he doing? I would greatly appreciate any information you may have...

He and Ekman have some fan in 2nd line in Khmink + he awesome in PK with his speed. 25 pts in 41 game - pretty good but his team Khimik on fire this season, he is only 4 scorer in team. Also imho Ekman > Bulis.

Dimitri Vorobiev, Toronto Prospect.

Anyone know if he's coming over to NA any time soon?

Would like to know some more about him from this past season from some Russian fans. His stats are looking great, and I think he could probably fit into Toronot's top 6.

Thanks.

Bumagin

Is Bumagin still hurt for Khimik? He has not played in a long while. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks.
