Hawks goaltending pipeline is absolutely bare (Outside Simpson) and I was thinking of him as a viable trade target since his value is at worst future consideration/late round pick in Florida's strong system

well he's big, raw, weak controlling his rebounds, but consistantly stops the first shot. During the 4 game winning streak he claimed a starting position @ CSKA (for now) had a shot out, and would have had another one if not a weired negative angle goal 4 minutes before the end of the game. IMHO - with good coaching he can be a KHL starter.
Yeah - just watched Gaiduchenko in the game against Dynamo - made some great saves (amazing blocker save in the first period), but his rebounds were not controlled all that well). He definitely has a lot of body and decent positioning, but needs to gobble up the pucks better (one goal was scored when he coughed it up after a save and a Dynamo player put it in right between the legs).
But an interesting netminder to watch who has done a good job thus far establishing himself in the KHL. I tell you - a couple of years back no one really believed in this guy, but after a solid season and this year - people are turning around.

i didn't believe in him as of 5 games ago - ha-ha. He's a big body sort of like Koshechkin, with good coaching he may be a very good KHL goalie...good catch btw - he does loose the puck right in fornt of him when other teams just tap it into the goal.
Yeah NHL might be a stretch for him - he is over-achieving right now. Although - who knows...I did hear his discipline earleir on was poor, but he did improve in this department.
Q, on Molotilov - 19 years old - fullt time stay at home D-man in the VHL, experience in NA -- how come he wasn't considered even for the 2nd junior team that played in Czech republic?
What do you guys think about the Loco's young trio of Galimov-Churilov-Kalyanin?
They've been very productive together and made team Russia together.
Yakov Rylov, Igor Mirnov and Vadim Shipachev are all having a productive season. Good young players?
I think they all have their defencies, but Russia is no longer producing super-stars, so once u put up with that fact - yes - they are good players (not all that young anymore though) haha
anybody have a report on Nikita Kvartalnov? I know that he is the son of Dmitri...but what is his potential if any? His skill set?
Thanks
I had never seen him play, but at 16 he's made the MHL team and actually scoring some goals...How come he's not getting any looks at the u17 - I dunno.

my guess is because he sort of came out of no where. I am confident that we will hear more about him once people get a look at him. I hope he is solid prospect...I would enjoy rooting for another kvartalnov someday.
What # did he wear with the Russian Under 18 team? Looks like 2 on this card I have of him? I have his 2006-07 In the Game Heroes and Prospects card that I want to get signed, but I like when they sign the proper # to the card. He doesn't speak much English so I am going to print a translation on paper for him to read.
I've heard some amazing things about Alexei Marchenko, I know he was under scouted last year, but if he really was as good as everyone says then he would be ranked this year for the 2011 NHL Draft along with Nikita Zaytsev. Just wondering what's up with him.

Where can I find game logs for Dynamo Moscow for the 2005-06 season? I'm trying to track down the date of Sergei Korostin's lone game with the team Dynamo that season.

I couldn't find anything as far as schedules or game logs that went back further than just a couple of seasons on their site. If I could find the boxscores with ice time, then I could go through them one at a time to find what I'm looking for.
It would be so much easier if Korostin just went back stateside and I could ask him at a Texas Stars game .... but I don't see that in the near future.
