Or as my wife (and most other EHM widows) would say,

"____________ AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!"

That's awesome news. I wonder if Riz could tell us if this effects ESPN NHL Hockey at all. It would be great if they could incorporate some of EHM into ESPN's franchise mode, which is really lacking.

Yep - congratulations Riz and Sports Interactive. I look forward to having EHM:FE to play whilst the other teams are palying the playoffs.

Sega is only publishing the games so this won't have effects on games by other developers although that is what most people have thought instantly. Naturally, working for the same publisher, we might end up in close contact with the developers of the ESPN game so there might be some ideas flying from dev team to another. But it is far too early to tell if there ever will be those kind of effects.

At the moment we are just very happy to have Sega as a publisher and hope to polish up a great game for you guys.

Well, if Sega is smart at all (and I have faith) they will incorporate a lot of EHM into ESPN NHL Hockey's franchise mode in the next game or the one after that. The underdeveloped franchise mode is most likely the main reason why EA's NHL Hockey is currently better.

Better? It certainly outsells ESPN, but better? No 'effing way. With all it's bugs and flaws ESPN Hockey is still the best, most fun, and most realistic hockey game ever made. I also bought EA NHL this year after years of not buying it, because a lot of people were saying how much they improved it this year, and it was horrible in my opinion. I admit that there were many things improved, and I actually liked it for a few days, but after a while I realized there is no solid gameplay in this game. While challenging unlike previous editions of the EA series, this game still has the same old lackluster, unrealisitc, crappy hockey engine underneath it all.

ESPN is by far the better playing game, and better overall hockey game in my opinion, but your right a better Franchise mode is much needed in this game. If they could even incorporate 25% of EHM into it, it would be great...

Pretty much everything . Except that you are still "only" managing the team you choose, you can't "play" the games like in NHL2004 (or others like that). New version is built on CM3 engine, and it looks a lot different it has more (20+ ??) leagues to play etc.

More info in here. And few pics of the new version in here.
