he doesent wanna sign with Vancouver. He more to the EAst. The only thing Nonis can possibly do is overpay him, to bring him here. Only Toronto uses these kind of tactics to lure players to their city.

And I think, with the Canucks horrible scoring, it'd be worth it, Nonis should've dumped Cooke for a draft pick and signed Bondra for ~$1 million.

Can you say chemistry
there was no chemistry with Bondra and those guys, hence why he so much of a disappointment with the Sens

For a one year $500,000 contract with incentives? Absolutely great move by the 'Hawks. Could prove to be a big one for the club, they were looking for a player that had an extra punch to their lines and an impact on the powerplay.

Interesting signing. I hope he does well with the Hawks. They're a team on the rise.

Welcome back Peter. I look forward to seeing you get your 500th quickly.

Hawks fans are gonna love him. Cannon of a shot from the PP point if they put him there.

Hey y'all, Thrasher fan here.

I enjoyed having Bondra with us his season here. If not for his injury trouble he'd done better here. Though he still scored more than 20 goals, which is pretty darn good all things considered, IMO.

This is a good signing by the Blackhawks. I look forward to seeing Bondra score his 500th NHL goal this season. I'd rather it happened with us, but oh well, as long as he gets it is the main thing for me.

I think the fact that the Hawks have Havlet and Handzus helped Bondra decide to go to the hawks

I am calling the hawks to get to the second round of the playoffs

i agree . as you mentioned they have a good core of forwards , they also have a solid goaltender and a group of young and talented defencemen , there is finally light at the end of the tunnel in chicago , nice to see the hawks on the rise . P.S. if the hawks can stay out of sick bay for the rest of the season then the playoffs are not out of the question .

I think the idea of playing for the offensive minded Savard didnt hurt any either. Tallon was trying to get him all year. I think the coaching change might have been what got the deal done. Playing the trap under Yawney was not how he wanted to finish his career.

Bondra plays on the right. He's still got some serious speed and if he is lined up with Havlat, that will be an exciting line. They can take some serious chances as they both have great speed and they both (can) play great defense.

He should also immediately improve the Hawks' dismal PP. Bondra still owns a powerful slapper and he's a deadly point man. He was ridiculously productive in 2000-2002 on the PP with Oates feeding him (39 goals).

I don't want him in Washington, but I am amazed that he didn't have a job at the start of the season.

this has gotta be the best signing since yannic perrault (dammit muckler, you almost had him). Look forward to seeing him scoring some goals for a healthy hawks team. This could be the sabres of 2007 if they fly under the radar any longer.
