DAMN 1-1 Stuart scored

with the first shot of the night as well

Yup. It's actually now 15-0 in shots for the Oilers with over 4 minutes left in the 1st period.

I still don't know why Stoll was singled out. In any case, I'm glad that the guys are responding to it well.

Sigh.. this is a really frustrating game so far! The Oilers have had at least 4 point black shots from right out front of the net and have failed to score on any of them! Despite that goal, everyone is playing really well.. Smyth has played amazing IMO and should have 2 assists so far. Horcoff and Stoll are both hustling and Chimera is having his best game of the season so far. If they keep up this effort in the second I guarantee they'll score a couple..

I wonder why Smyth didn't have to skate. He must be getting some slack from playing out of position all year. From center to the checking line, that is definately not the Ryan Smyth that the oilers need. Hopefully he gets back to where he should be soon, otherwise i'd be skating him with everybody else.

What are the lines tonight?

Is Allen playing at all?

This is so frustrating ... I get 800 channels, and I don't get SportsNet West!!!!!!!!!!

Lines are a jumble now, except for Stoll/Horcoff/BG. San Jose is now up 2-1.

Yeah that seems to be the flavour in Oilerville the past few years.

Set your lines......if everything doesn't go PERFECTLY as planned in the first 10 minutes, then just start changing things and jerking players around everywhere.

But hey as MacT says, "by the end of the season every player will have played with every other Oiler player."

And gee........isn't that just great. MacT still wants to try and prove that things will gel.......even if you keep on stirring it.

Isn't it JUST great?

what a snorefest, judging by the crowds reaction so far i would gather they feel the same way. little or no emotion, dammit hit some guys wake up. they look like they have given up already.
i don't know just pissed off, i think a change is needed of the coaching variety. the is complete and utter nonsense the way the team is playing. no shots on the powerplay and already a powerplay goal against, for shame.

Poor Horcs.........goal gets awarded to someone else.

Stoll for that matter. The guy that may send him packing.

I know it's a team thing, but Horcs needed that goal.

The Oilers have 77 shots in their last two games and have just 2 goals to show for it. They've also been outscored 13-3 in their last three games (7-1 loss @ DET, 4-1 loss vs COL, and 2-1 loss vs SJ).

What's going on?

1 scoring line and 3 lines of mish-mashed talent?
Conklin needs 1 game off hes burning out.

side-note:That game was truly painful to watch

Prior to the last three games, though, those '3 lines of mish-mashed talent' were scoring.

Perhaps it's mental???

This isn't like a chunk of games that Tommy plays in the middle of his 65+ games per season. This is big and new to the rookie. Alot of weight thrust on his shoulders. Now the Oilers are finding ways to lose.

I doubt he's physically worn out.

a few more performances like this in a row and Comrie may actually play hockey before New Years.

Judging by some of the more recent trade rumours, I hope not.

Didn't watch the whole game, but...

Man this team is frustrating to watch and yet it's hard to criticize a team that shoots over 35 times on goal 2 games in a row. I mean they are generating offence, just not goals...We've all seen this before.

Plus, they could have had more shots but for some reason, the Oilers have perfected the art of hitting opposing players with there shots. The opposing team isn't blocking these shots, the Oilers are making them look good. Same goes with the passing. Man, I pity the good fans on this board and in Edmonton that have to go the exlax place or whatever the hell it's called and see pee wee hockey passing. It's excruciating (sp??) to watch on TV...I can't imagine shelling out some caysh to see it live...

ok enough ranting...G2K got me going with his post.

Conklin at fault???

screened on the first goal and 3 Oilers couldn't clear the puck on the second one. hardly Conklin's fault.

game in and game out the problem is defense. they're out of position, aren't physical enough and don't clear enough rebounds.

Niinimaa was a big loss for the D.

we've got 2 giants (Cross and Semenov) back there and neither one is physical...

that seems to be the whole problem, nobody is taking this team by the horns. when was the last time a big hit or a fight got this team going. these guys are really boring to watch right now and i agree with the doctor, what a waste of money.
while you guys were watching the game did you happen to notice how quiet rexall place was. not a good sign, sounded like a tomb in there.
