Remaining December Games ~ What's your guess?

Dec 12 - Dallas away
Dec 14 - Phoenix away
Dec 16 - Chicago

Dec 18 - Detroit
Dec 20 - Detroit away
Dec 22 - Vancouver
Dec 23 - Islanders away

Dec 26 - Boston
Dec 28 - Detroit
Dec 29 - Minnesota away
Dec 31 - Chicago

This is a TOUGH schedule not only for the opponents, but so many games close together, and the bouncing back and forth between home and away games. "Catching up" with the rest of the league in total games played -is going to be a biatch.

After the Ottawa game, we should be able to beat everyone on this schedule.
But I worry that after we THRASH Chicago, we'll be out of gas for the next four tough opponents. Would be a good time for some healthy players to return.

OH how I'd love to see payback vs DEETroit this December!

One game at a time. Only game to worry about right now is in Dallas on Tuesday.

Signed,

Coach Hitchcock

The Hawks have Havlat back and the Bulin Wall is actually playing like one, they won't be an easy team to beat.

Excellent point.
But we beat them before they were injured, right?

I'm calling the Canucks game for sure. We have lost two to those mugs that we shouldn't have and I'm sure that won't go unnoticed or unmentioned in the lockerroom.

GO FALCOR!! Calling for the deuce v DEETroit. I'm in.

I'll let you know what I predict after I hear how long LeClaire will be out for.

If Conklin plays some games, then that may change things.

I highly doubt Conklin does anything more than act as a doorman for the duration of the time he's up here (if he's even called up - he'd have to clear re-entry waivers).

Obviously this is just my opinion, but January looks far more difficult than December. If we're going to aim for a playoff spot, we have to do extremely well in December.

Seriously? Have to clear waivers?
So maybe Popperle then?
Anybody want to comment on how he's been playing lately?

Yeah, Conklin would have to clear waivers to be called up (number of NHL games played). Popperle has won his last 4 starts for Syracuse, I believe. He's played much better of late. Regardless, either one of these guys will just act as a doorman. Norry will start until Pascal gets back.

Waivers? Who the heck wants Conklin, no one cept us. He will be called up, he will clear waivers and he will ride the pine till Leclaire returns.....

As for the rest of December? We will win them all...as long as the Jackets continue to play as they have the past eight games... I'm serious here folks, and I don't care if the Sabres are on the list...this team is running from the devil or something.

I truely think they are pissed at being so bad for so long and have something to prove to the league, the fans and themselves.....I've had a few tonight but these guys are on freakin fire.....

Just to cover my butt they can't win em all in December but heck....I wouldn't be surprised to see them go .800 if they keep playing the way I have seen them play in the last 4 games....

Why, exactly is everyone worried about Leclaire's injury?

We're fine with Conklin as a backup -- We're a long ways away from Game 1 of the Cup Finals, and he's aching to prove his worth.

And,

Fredrik. Norrena.

How long until teams take notice of our revenge tour and stop underestimating us? Not like we didn't do all we could to deserve being underestimated earlier this season I just wonder if you think that is part of what is happening or that Ottawa came expecting to get b****-slapped if they didn't play their best?

I don't get it....why are you asking the mods to lock the thread.... I just don't understand this China mentality. Do individual posters get their rocks off by challanging the mods? Why force them to feel they are not doing their job.

Our mods are not stupid, they can handle their responsibilities without prompting....gawd, the need to feel powerful astounds me....

while i could see a team doing that in the past(well, not really after la spanked us 8-0{?}) i don't really see them doing it now. besides, ottawa didn't look like they were floating around to me.

i expect all teams to crank it up a notch as we approach the playoffs though.

Now you are on to something.....I'm not trying to be all knowing or trying to steal your point but I said the very thing to my adult son at the game tonight....these guys are playing beyond normal....they are proving something to someone..... (? the hockey world and most importantly.....themselves)

Wow.

Dude, I'm notorious for demanding the locking of the thread. It's kinda my thing.

Before you call me out, do your research: http://hfboards.com/search.php?searchid=1037407

Then, call this guy:

i think we are all a little concerned about leclaire's injury cuz:
1)we don't know what is injured
2)we don't know the extent of said injury
3)unlike forwards or dmen, we only have 2 goalies.

conklin will probably get called up, but my question is with dayton. which goalie gets called up to help syracuse? lacosta is jackets property.. but the other one(way too lazy to look it up) is not. what are the rules about call ups between farm teams?

while i think all this "lock it" stuff is getting ridiculous, i do think we have strayed way off the original meaning of the thread. does anyone care to guess which games we will win?

Though not impossible it is a little improbable to win out the rest of December. The thing is I'm okay with a loss here or there because I think the days of extended losing streaks is over with a guy like Hitch. I'm not worried about the team getting all crestfallen after a loss and coming out the next game flat because I don't think Hitch will let them. It's a good feeling.

Agreed...I hate to keep using the Sabres a an example because they quite frankly sucked three years ago.....but no one can debate they are doing well so far this season. That said, even they have lost their share so far yet they seem to blow it off and come back to win....especially in OT or SO's. That's called no quit; and even though we will lose one now and then we will be back in your face the next game!

That's the only thing I need to be convinced the Jacket/Hitch era can do....so, in a strange way I'm looking forward to losing a game, simply to see how our new team responds.

And that is important if we ever make the playoffs....no team usually wins em all.... The teams that win respond to adversity....they don't fold....

I predicted 10-5 in December, and we are 4-1, five games into the month. I'll stick by my prediction, and call the remaining 10 this way:

W-Dec 14 - Phoenix away
L-Dec 16 - Chicago (Martin Havlat + Khavibulin(sp))

L-Dec 18 - Detroit(We aren't that good yet)
L-Dec 20 - Detroit away(ditto)
W-Dec 22 - Vancouver(Carter hat trick)
W-Dec 23 - Islanders away

W-Dec 26 - Boston
W-Dec 28 - Detroit
L-Dec 29 - Minnesota away
W-Dec 31 - Chicago

I give you credit for trying to predict....I can't do that other than one thing....Detroit....when Hitch here's about our woes with Detroit all hell is going to break loose.....we will kill that jinx just as we did in Denver.....

As for the remaining games....pick um....but we will win 7 out of the 10.......
