1st Period at 5:40 left is when Foote went down. You can see him having problems at that point.

Hummm. Wonder if we will need to go out and get somebody?? or Just bring up others from Syracuse and let them flurish under the Hitch system.

Did anybody pick up Brian Leetch yet?

Paper this morning says Foote should play Tuesday vs. Dallas. I'm sure Carter will be fine. That just leaves Leclaire as the only guy likely to miss time.

Any early word on Pascal this morning, from those in the know, would be greatly appreciated ...

Disgrace said that he and Foote are getting MRIs this morning. Mentioned that Foote left with the team for the road trip, no mention of Pascal with the team or not.

I would be a little worried about Leclaire. He has a history of groin strains that take forever to heal. He missed almost all of one year a few years ago with a groin strain. We kept hearing 'he's almost ready, just another week or two' for about 4 months.

Not trying to upset anyone, but don't count on him being back until he's actually on the ice.

At least Norrena has been playing well and often, so it should be easy for him to transition into the starting role.

Carter was taken back to dressing room for safty.....after the game he said that he was fine.....they just kept him out because we were up so much and they wanted to make sure that he was ok.

thats what the lady from 1460 was telling us at the post game last night at the nat.

Any groin strain takes a while to heal in a goalie. The muscles that are used to rotate the leg inward while butterflying are very vulnerable. The butterfly slide pulls the muscle to act exactly opposite to what it must do during its contraction, so the muscle fights the friction every time you take the action. And they are very hard to heal. I'd rather have him off the ice now for 3 months and get it truly healed than have him come back early and re-injure. Hopefully his previous experience with his groin tear, and the specialist he saw, will help him manage this one differently.

I was watching the Shark/Yote game (well, before it became a moot point) and the shark announcers (McSorley (barf) and some other cretin) and they were discussing Kitchen getting fired. That led to a comment about the Blue Jackets and how remarkable the turn around Hitch had gotten from his team was ... and then they mentioned Foote's injury last night. THEY said that THEY had heard that Foote's injury was one that would be "long term." Are these boners right? Have we heard anything like that?

??

Edit: I'm hoping they made a mistake (as would be par for these two) and heard about Leclaire's groin and not Foote's foot/knee...whatever.)

Its hard to guess who knows what they are talking about, coupled with the vaguery the clubs use to describe injuries now adays(lower body, upper body, etc). I heard this morning on the FAN that Leclaire's is not a groin injury, but a sprained knee(MRI negative for ligament damage).

That is good news! I think one of the factors behind the late season run last year was the goal tending tandem. Norrena can handle the load but it will be good for the team to have those two pushing each other. Too bad the Shark/Yotes feed wasn't from the Phoenix crew. Panger does a good job I think. San Jose's crew is condescending and pedantic. Drives me crazy to listen to them.

That is great news! It deserves pickles and a banana. Norrena is super, but I think we work best with the tandem intact.

So where did the extra banana come from? Never mind, I don't think I want to know!

Fantasy hockey news site confirms the Dispatch's report on Leclaire's injury:
Quote:
12.12.06 Pascal Leclaire may be back within a week's time as MRI results showed only a knee sprain.

Impact: This is good news for the Blue Jackets as it was initially feared that Leclaire had suffered a serious injury in Sunday's game against the Senators. Fredrik Norrena has been impressive lately, so the Blue Jackets should continue to roll as a team. If you own one of these goalies, you should own the other for situations exactly like this.

According to Dispatch, he isn't playing tonight. Nothing else about him.

I read the Dispatch said 'Questionable' so that's why I asked. I'll keep my figers crossed.

If I hear the tearms "Upper body injury" or "Lower body injury" one more time I'm going to hurt somebody.

Is it that hard to be honest to your fans, it's not like this is game 7 of the finals.

Zherdev is returning, and Wescott is getting close. Should make for some interesting line soap operas for the fans to enjoy (or make up).

Nic will probably replace Shelly on the 4th at the start, right? i.e. if it works don't mess with it...

I'm sure this was answered but I haven't read page two yet and felt like padding my posts

Zherdev is in the lineup tonight. Bill Davidge was on 1460 around 4:50 to provide the update. Didn't say who he was in for but that he was in the lineup.

Wescott, Foote and Leclaire close to ready

I just listened to an interview with Hitch on XM Radio and he basically said that Duvie, Foote and Leclaire are all very close to coming back. Not tomorrow in Phoenix, but after that it will be day to day. Assuming that they continue to improve as they have. Said that Duvie got the splint off his finger today and Foote and Leclaire both had "good" days today.
