Did they seriously give Crosby an assist on that goal?!?!

Gonchar passed it to recchi...recchi passed it back and Gonchar shot it....there is no way crosby should have gotten an assist on that.

This league has some serious problems.

Oh I could care less about Rosie getting the point. I was just curious that the scorekeeper saw that as an own-goal (the only plausible explanation for having no assist).

They've been doing that all year. I don't know if it's some new directive by the league to pad stats or what.

It might be unrelated, but I noticed NHL 07 counts assists that way now as well.

He willed the puck into the net. He's that good.

Maybe Crosby provided emotional support to his line...

For whatever reason, some people don't want that kind of talent on this roster.

Exactly. No bold free agent signings, no stupid trades. Let a team grow as a unti for the first time in a long time. Unless the young guys on D make major steps in their growth, Nitty's develpoment is going to be stunted.

I feel bad for Benjamin. The more injuries the Flyers sustain, the less icetime he gets. He's playing on the scrub line tonight.

But how does crosby get an assist on that but ruzicka doesnt get one on potulny's goal?

I really hate this playing favorites crap. Hatcher...please hit #87 like you did Jagr last night...only twice as hard. Lets see how the league like that...

I know, I'm very confused about the Potulny goal.

The only thing I can think of is the scorekeeper or ref decided it was an own-goal instead of just a crazy deflection.

Nitty's save percentage is up to 50% for the game. Huzzah!

Seriously, though, were the goals saveable? I can't watch the game.

No you clueless.. because you do not realize that Nitty plays in front of really bad team. This is his first full year and he plays the most important position. So he is in tough position playing every single game. To be all over him.. is just plain stupid. Try going after every single player on this team.

I'm clueless because I don't realize he plays BEHIND a bad team? Wow, I thought this team was good. Thanks captain obvious, I had no idea this was a bad team.

He plays the most important position so he rightfully should take the most amount of heat when he plays poorly. Goalies ARE capable of stealing games, even for the worst teams.

He's a good goalie on a good team. He's well below average on a bad team. This is a bad team, but that doesn't excuse allowing bad goals on save-able shots.

I swear you don't even watch the games. How can you defend a guy that quite obviously allows bad goals that any goalie in this league should save?

Of course that list doesn't include the injured Forsberg, Sanderson, Richards and Carter, who all have more than 3 points - although not many more.

The scoresheet was updated, Potulny's goal is now rightfully assisted by Ruzicka and Picard.

Because I can. He plays well.. He plays a bit injured, with no breaks in every single game. He is around .900. He makes really good saves and he is a capable goalie with a little NHL expirience. So if you expect him to save every single game and be all over him while everyone stinks on this team... Ok. So be it.

By the way if Gagne did not shot the puck and completly missed the net we would not have this conversation. If Umberger did not deflect the shot and if the puck did not bounce off Hatcher.. Yesterday, if Pitkanen did not push the puck near the net and Cullen scored a goal.. But yeah it's goalies fault.
Goalies lose their concentration too. Nitty plays ok for now.

Until he stops letting in softies on a regular basis, fans have a right to be on him. Being young doesn't give you a free pass to be inconsistent. Everyone is fair game for criticism right now.
