Like I said, good teams have a habit of losing to teams they're supposed to kill. But maybe the Coyotes will make a strong push to take away the "Streak Killer" title of the Jackets (not including the Hitchcock-era games, of course).

phoenix has the second worst PK in the league, so yeah i can see us getting some PP goals.
i'm also afraid that after all these wins against good teams we'll play like crap against a bad one and lose all our momentum i definitely hope to be proven wrong in this case.

I remember reading a quote from Hitch where he said Picard would play tonight, so I believe this is true. Love Picard, but it sucks that it is at the expense of Brule.

I share the same worry but the last 2 games gave us every reason to pack it in and we didn't. I'm starting to worry a little less now. Actually, the only unsettling feeling I get is that I don't have one. Am I jinxing it by not being conservative!?!?

I'll fix that by saying.....if we drop one tonight DON'T PANIC people.... 6-4 in ten is just barely off our required pace for you know what...the guys return home Saturday and they will be buzzing...especially if tonight is not what we want....

Now that I said that I'm fired up for tonight....where's the prozac...

Well Brule is a similar type player to Roenick so maybe during the game he'll go over to McDonalds and down some root beer.

They're starting Tellqvist after Tuesday's debacle? I expect Phoenix to come out hitting anything that moves, so watch out for injuries...time for Shelley to earn his green in this one. Phoenix should be vulnerable to breakout passing counter attacks and additionally will give the Jackets lots o' power play time. Not a good combination (for them).

Jackets 6 - Yotes 1

Yea I think we need to have Shelley in there tonight for sure.

Brule getting scratched kind of sucks, but Phoenix is a frustrated team and if we do jump on them it could get dirty.

I'm not so much concerned about Laraque (because I don't think he is dirty), but there are a few others on the team.

i'm just quoting the 'patch.

under the who's hot/who's not:
Quote:
bluejackets: the jackets are so hot, no one of them is not.
coyotes: there is a chill up and down the roster, save for jovo(10pts in past 11 games) and perreault(8 goals in 18 games).

You got me in the wrong camp, bro. I'm the one being cautious about getting too confident and saying we need to keep on doing this to earn respect from the national media.

Now, do you want to be "tastes great" or "less filling"?

I agree with all the Shelley love (ok, use) in this GDT....it amazes me sometimes how this board is on top of strategy and feelings.... Shelley could do some damage to the Yotes by getting our boys focused and up.....I do fear a let down. I'd bet my game time six pack of bud light that Hitchcock is on it.....

I worry about this one because the trends are heavily weighted in the CBJ's favor, which usually means a trap game lies ahead.

CBJ on winning streak, Phoenix on losing streak.

Phoenix is 29th in goals allowed, 28th in goals for, 29th in PP, and 29th in PK

Jackets by comparison are now 9th in GA, 9th in PK, 17th in PP and still lagging at 25th in GF.

I worry until I started thinking about how we are playing defensively in the neutral zone. That's a calming foundation that will also force a slow and poor puck handling team like PHX into multiple turnovers.

CBJ 4, PHX 2

if they keep playing defense like they have been, they should have no problem against these guys. they've only scored one more goal than we have and they've given up 33 more goals.

That was from the presser after their game against Vancouver on Tuesday. Tellqvist was yanked after giving up 4 goals on 14 shots.

I see they are right where the Jackets were 3 weeks ago. The boys will sense that when they hit the ice and put a skate to the throat of the 'Yotes.

5-1 Jackets.

Ooooh. That's a hella good point there. We weren't supposed to beat Dallas and the Blues game had a laundry list of excuses why we could have phoned it in. Now I am worried again. Thank you for that - it feels a lot more natural now.

Robert - you didn't answer me! You are dodging me! You afraid to weigh in on taste versus calories?! [insert chicken noises here] Bring it!!

I would just like to state that 33 was the number I wore through my athletic career.

This may or may not qualify me as the prodigal son.

Let Klesla have Comrie.

I want Picard to get under Jovanovski's skin tonight! He has way of doing that with ease.
