Which we won't see since we know the Habs will trade Niiniimaa, Aebischer, Begin, Murray, Bonk and Ryder for Fedorov and Zherdev.

We should call them the "Crash and Bang Brothers". We saw a preview of what it could look like when Lats and Laps were hitting everything yesterday in the third. LONG LIVE TO THE CRASH AND BANG BROS!

If this happens, it means we're 100% healthy. That is so rare... I don't really anticipate this occuring, and I don't expect a trade involving a roster player until Gainey returns, either.

100% healthy probably means a Lats-Begin-Streit line....

Lapierre looks good out there, i hope he sticks on the roster for the rest of the season. Could make way for a trade.

Lats-Begin-Streit

Keep Lapierre, send Murray down? Although I'm not sure if we shouldn't send Lapierre down instead in order to help his development... Hmm.

While all 3 are probably the best players individually, that line becomes weak having Bégin centering the line. While Murray should be put to waivers, we should keep Lapierre, make him center the line and have Bégin and Streit rotate...until we have somebody injure either on D or up front.

But the obvious scenario will be to say to Lapierre thank you very much, we'll see you as soon as there's an injury.....unfortunately.....

Both Lapierre AND Streit have to play. Latendresse too, of course.

Murray and Downey will have to sit. You have to play the guys who are performing!

Steve Begin or Maxim Lapierre ?

I like Lapierre, but for me, no way Lap can take Begin spot right now.

Ideally you have a fourth line of Begin - Lapierre - Streit. This keeps Streit up front where he is excelling, and allows Begin to play the wing where he has stated he is more comfortable.

What this means is finding a spot in the top 9 for Latendresse. Right now the top 9 consists of:
Koivu
Higgins
Ryder
Plekanec
Kovalev
Samsonov
Perezhogin
Bonk
Johnson

If everyone is healthy, realistically, one of those 9 must be traded for Lapierre to keep a roster spot right now.

How about moving Latendresse and Lapierre up with Kovalev to play on the second line?

Plenacek is much better suited to be a shut down defensive center anyway

It's not a question of either/or, both have to be on this team.

Streit would be a traditional checking line guy anyway, not an energy line guy.

Hard to break up our third line right now though...

I'd rather have Lapierre in there than Streit from what I've seen.

No way they are benching Samsonov... so that leaves few options.

plekanec

As much as Plekanec is an excellent defensive player, his offensive , i think, are getting much better which coincides with a bigger confidence in himself.

He has a good eye for finding teammates, good passer, excellent slapshot (i wish he would shoot more) great skater, good hustler...

i love the way he plays.. if ribeiro moved his *** half of what plekanec did hw would be still in montreal and thats better this way..

plekanec is an excellent asset to this team and we have veyr talented offensive center in my opinion...he makes mistakes and chokes on some easy scoring chances but he tries and he will explode soon enough to his potential

That move between the legs he made against Tampa (?) was

He is due to explode, I feel it. Sometimes I can't understand why he hasn't been more succesful. I think he lacks confidence, underestimates himself and doesn't shoot or go to the net when he should. He's always looking to soothe the two big Russian egos on his line by passing when he should be thinking about scoring. He needs to be a bit more selfish, IMO.

Our playoff energy line right there. I thought about that line even before lapierre was up with the club. Streit will be back on D. These guys will create havoc and could change a game with a shift. What a line this could be...Im sure Carbo already thought of it.

You don't trade a top 9 forward to make room for a 4th line rookie! That's insane! We'll need all of these guys for a deep playoff run...

We're getting healthy which is great, when Begin's healthy he's in- Streit or Lapierre. Streit gives you options. Lapierre gives you total willingness. Both have been playing great. If it were me Bouillon would be the odd one out but Carbo won't do that.
