yes, but everyone understandS road white. A RED Blue Jacket is just asking for harrassment and trouble and "your color blind mama dresses you funny" jokes.

FORGET RED...WINGS AND HAWKS DO IT TO DEATH. Just forget it!!

Yes yes...I will repeat as well... a full out red jersey is just a bad bad idea... I mean why stop at red...we could choose purple, orange..maybe Z pink? Then call us the 'tickeled pink'..

So does that mean that after next season teams will be allowed to have third jerseys?
I'm not sure that there is a final decision, but the rumor was that alternates would be phased back in 2 years after the new jerseys appear. Alternates were phased in initially by the league, so this wouldn't surprise me. Could be years before Columbus has the need for a 3rd jersey again. I'd like to see the third stay blue, but with red chevrons on the arms and a stylized soldier or cannon on the crest.

ugh...stylized soldier?

The worst example we have in NHL history of actual people on jerseys is the infamous Islanders' Gorton Fisherman thirds. Let's not repeat that ever, ever again.

A third jersey with confederate grey would be acceptable.

Red?

I know it's the NHL and they might not be too keen on specialty jerseys as an event seller like lower leagues but I enjoyed retro/hockey history jerseys like when the Chill wore Checkers, Seals and Owls jerseys. It made be remember my first (and only) Owls game as a kid with my uncle. Again, likely never to happen at the top level but would be cool.

I wouldn't judge a concept by a poor execution of it. Are you telling me you don't like the Senators jerseys? What about the Blackhawks?

Sens - no, don't like them. At all. Especially the third. Hideous.

I'll give you Chicago, but that's a one in a million jersey. Won't be repeated ever again.

I maintain that any human face on a hockey jersey has the potential to be really, really bad.

Couldn't be any worse than any logo the Canucks have ever had. Talk about horrible marketing.

I love their stick in a rink logo but can definitely do without the rest. I would love for them to go with that logo full time -- I may even buy a jersey of theirs if that was the case.

The more basic the better IMO. Some logos like our regular CBJ are just way to complicated and that is why pretty much all of the orginal 6 logos have withstood the test of time with a few tweaks here and there. That is one of the biggest reason I love our 3rd...very basic -- looks good blown up or small -- basic colors -- and I think is a good representation of the city of Columbus and easily recognizable.

I've been hoping it'll be a draft-day announcement so our first pick will be able to wear it. (At least, I'm pretty sure our recent draft picks haven't put on the third jersey already.)

Aren't they supposed to be the Blackhawks?

Anyway, I would like to see the current 3rd be the new homes. Besides, the current home jersey looks like crap!

Simple is better. Broad designs with basic colors are the most powerful. I don't think red is a good idea but I would like to see them do more with the Civil War theme. Maybe a federal eagle for the third in a couple of years?

Too many other teams with red jerseys
Flames
Canes
Wings
Panthers (third)
Wild (third, and is it godawful)
Habs
Devils
Senators
Coyotes (ish)

AND THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME

I'm with others when I hope the third becomes the main.

I also hope they actually sew the names directly into the jerseys instead of that "Name patch" thing. It looks so bush league, and looks exceedingly bad on the away jerseys. I know what GMDM thinks of coaches, but are our players that unimportant, that their names need to be easily removable from the jersey's?

Also the away stripes are starting to get old as well.

The new form-fitting uniforms will be, and apparently the Maple Leafs will also be unveiling their updated logo at the All-Star game (per the article Macster linked). As for the Jackets adopting their current third jersey/logo as their official design, I haven't read anything.
