I saw this posted at a different site, and it made me think. How would you guys feel about something like

Smaby+the third we just got

For

Lupul

Boltprospects staff feels that this deal means one of the younger guys (Rogers, Egener, Smaby) is going to be dealt.

I like Smaby, but I really like Lupul. All he'd have to do is finish Richard passes all night.

Don't know if it would be enough to satisfy EDM fans though.

Absolutely 100% I would do Smaby and a 3rd for Lupul.

If he does, it should drive his cost lower. Perhaps in that case, even something along the lines of Egener and a 3rd would do it.

I'm sure EDM fans would rip this to shreds, but as proven time and time again when the trades actually happen, you don't always get what you think you will for guys.

I believe he has concussion related problems, that is not something I would want to touch right now.

Lupul was the center of the Pronger deal and that fact alone will cause him to be untradeable for an offer like that.

Those offers do not cover even close to what Edmonton would expect. Even though he is not having a great year, he is still young enough that it really doesn't affect his value that much. He still has a high ceiling and won't be had had B or C level D Prospects and a 3rd round.

IMO Smaby's untouchable so no. And if Lupul has concussion issues I say no period. In the cap world with the salaries we already have on board IMO we don't take a chance of obtaining a player with concussions issues.

Spectors mentioned Ian Laperriere possibly being available...anyone else think he may fit here? His goal scoring is down quite a bit, but I think he'd be able to solidly contribute and definitely adds grit

9 players put on waivers today.

What about a guy like Cajanek from St. Louis?

If Feaster can't get a deal done for a young winger to play with Richards, we could pick this guy up pretty cheaply contract wise, and without having to move any pieces.

I don't know if he'd be anything other than a different Fedotenko though.
