Well, another one on national TV (although only in Canada on TSN), so let's have another good one. As I posted in the other thread, a win tonight would vault us past LA in the standings and to within 7 points of the 8th playoff spot. Detroit is obviously going to be fighting mad and we're walking into a hornet's nest - but we've won on the road at Colorado and Dallas, so we're capable of winning in Detroit. Would be nice to have the captain back for this one.

We have to take LIMITED penalties and take advantage of any breaks we get. This will be a very, very difficult game and we would officially become contenders if we win. I will be cheering loudly and toasting frequently.

Jackets, 4-3 in OT.

Will definitely be a good one tonight.

Norrena will need to be on his game and not let those little ticky tacky goals in like the first two the other night.

Hopefully the offense gets started early and stays hot for the full 60.

det~2

fedorov laughs at the boos raining down on him and gets a hat trick. zherdev finally gets one. give the other to modin or nash.

no disrespect to detroit, but we walk in their building and own them for now we see we are NOT inferior.

we win, quite frankly, because we believe we can. name of the game? "it's my puck and you can't have it."

Let's try this again.

Red Wings 3 - Jackets 1.

Nash scores but it's not enough and Freddy takes another one for the team.

So far the Jackets are 6-0-1 when I post this prediction.

The key tonight is to put the Wings off of their game. Aggressive forecheck, physical play, and getting sticks in the passing/shooting lanes. Keep them off-balance and make them think. Let's show Detroit that the Central is no longer a two team division!

Not sure who will win tonight although I think it will be close. What I am certain of is that Nash will have at least two points as he seems to be incapable of getting any less lately.

Yep, Center Ice has the TSN feed (well, at least for those not in the FSN Ohio viewing area):

det - zetterberg, lidstrom, lang

Freddy No stands on his head in this one to keep us alive early on and we play the body tonight and don't let them skate freely around the ice all night

the question is does Foote play tonight?

Jackets realize they almost let a fast start get away from them and refuse to allow the same thing to happen again

and/or

the Wings know that with the same effort, they should be able to win at home

Bottom Line Tonight:

As Freddy NO-NO goes, so go the BJ's...

This is the type of game "they" keep talking about... In theory (and history), we lose this game. But, if Freddy can put the team on his back and is seeing beachballs out there, we steal this one... And of course, playoff caliber teams often steal games that, on paper, they should lose....

Fear the high goal totals tonight... If Detroit scores 2 or less, we win.... 3 or more...well.... we don't...

That being said, Lets-Go Jack-ets...

I think we will come out with fire and I expect us to bring it to the Wings. Similar to the last game. How successful we are then and how long we can sustain this play will indicate the result of the game.

What is a better way to show you are for real than to beat the Wings in back-to-back games? The guys will be hungry tonight.

This is the back end of a home and home.

Ask me a week ago and I would say a split is acceptable.

We have the split in hand.

I want the sweep now. I am getting greedy.

We go down early and storm back to tie in the third and win on a Nash goal in overtime.

CBJ-4 We do not seem to score less than this lately. OT

DDT(Detroit Dead Things)-3

GO JACKETS!!!!!!

3-2 OT loss

We play a great game, pick up a point, and gain some more confidence.

Watching the game the other night, Detroit is still the better team. However, we are growing and learning. Alot more learning to do. We will continue to get better and close the gap even more as the year goes on.

Good times, it's nice to watch a team improving instead of feeling like you've watched one that has peaked.

6-5 CBJ.

Lot's of goals, neither goalie is spectacular. Both let in a couple softies, but show up big in the 3rd.

Wings come out on fire, posting two quick goals, but CBJ battles back to win.

Wings fans once again post some reason on why CBJ didn't win, but the Wings lost it. Wings fans won't believe that any other team is good, especially the CBJ ... but they still lose.

CBJ needs to stay the course this evening and focus on the task at hand. They learned that they should have taken the body the other night in the 2nd and 3rd periods to prevent the Wings from moving through the shooting lanes. A good quick start would be nice, but once again strong defensive zone converage is a must on a consistent basis throughout the ENTIRE GAME, this will generate enough oppourtunities to score.

The Jackets have been in every game played since November 22nd. No reason for it to stop now. It's fun to actually be this pumped up on Game Day.

Though Foote can feel free to be healed up and come back any time now. I look for a better defensive effort tonight and Gruvie Duvie will start to hit his stride.

Does it seem that every game is a "big" game and is a measuring stick on how far we have come. Shouldn't be that way, but I'm not complaining because it is has been a blast watching this team since Hitch got here. On the edge of my seat every game instead of sitting around waiting for them to fold or for disaster to strike.

The Red Wings, even though their fans won't admit it, are a fragile team that is still looking for their own identity. These aren't the Stanley Cup Wings of the past even though their fans want to believe they are. Saying that they still have many talented players and are a dangerous team offensively and defensively. The CBJ have to come out strong, HIT, HIT and HIT more, play better in their own zone and stay out of the box.

Detroit will be on a mission to prove Monday was a fluke. Would be nice to see that it wasn't. Go Jackets

Defensive battle: 3-2 Jackets in a nail-biter.

I expect a big hitting game, mostly because that's what we DIDN'T do in the second and third periods on Monday, and Hitch will have drilled this into the team via video til they puke.

You need to read more posts on this subject on Red Wing boards, most fans are well aware of this.
