calm down? i'm completely calm...i'm just very impressed at how well the other 29 teams get their power play set up and we set up once every 10 power plays.
yeah, no ****, he's the one that went ballistic over svitov taking two lazy penalties. like it should come as a suprise that a CBJ player would take lazy penalties

Sorry, disgruntled...it was a Big Lebowski-quote I was poking at Pubs.
Detroit put on a clinic.....they completly rule the ice....they even back us up when we try to advance the puck out of our zone....two goals due to penalties....sad, who were they called on anyway, my TV went blank.
Putting Hasek back in was pure genius...he won't be pulled tonight. The Jackets must stop watching and start playing their game instead of paying homage to the consistent playoff losers Detroit Red Wings.........
Tough period. 2nd PP goal was scored because of bad clearing attempts by both, Malhotra and Chimera. But as for Chimera's situation, it was so messy at the point he tried to backhand it out that he didn't concentrate enough. Overall pretty cautious play by Jackets, Joe Louis is one of the toughest places to play really.
Still hoping that they will come stronger into 2nd period!

Take it to those SOB's Jackets.....damn.......
The biggest issue is that they are reading our plays before our players are. Everyone (including Hasek) is seeing what we are planning before we execute, and they have someone in the lane to at least break up the play, but often generate a breakaway and/or scoring chance. We need to keep our heads up more, and be as aware of where the Wings players are as much as we are anticipating where our boys are going to be.
These were my keys to the game I posted this afternoon. Lets see how the Jackets did:
1. The CBJ have to come out strong = Failed, came out flat
2. HIT, HIT and HIT more = Failed, will you hit somebody please
3. Play better in their own zone = Failed, clear the puck
4. Stay out of the box = Failed, move your feet Svitov
Result = 2-0.
I thought they would come out on fire and play with more determination knowing what this game meant in the overall scheme of things. Instead they lay a first period egg and revert to the old CBJ way. Not giving up but the next goal is key.
Still early, but unless adjustments are made this could get out of hand. Next goal is huge, but it looks like the Jackets just need a couple of solid shifts to get settled. One shift at a time, guys.
There is no argument that the Red Wings made the Jackets look bad but I do not think that this was the same as it used to be. Our boys had some legitimate chances, if it wasn't for a couple of heads up plays by Hasek this would be a tie game right now. Pull it together Jackets, you are not out of this thing!
Just as i figured this one would go. All our focus and energy seems to have been expended in the first period Monday night. The last 3 periods have been school, period.
Is it just me, or do the Wings make the Jackholes look stupid more than any other team.

We are 19th in Power play %...Detroit is 24th. Our power play is better than 11 teams...not dead last. Could it improve?? Oh hell yea!! But things are progressing.
The goal on special teams is when you add the PP and the PK you equal better than 100....we are at 101.3. Its our 5-5 where we need to get better...IMO.
