WJ Invite List Today -prediction

At least 3 Oilers prospects are hoping for invites -JDD, Brodziak, and Pouliot. As a side note JDD's Chicoutimi beat Pouliot's Rimouski last night 6-3 and neither oiler prospect played -Pouliot still injured and Chicoutimi started their backup against the highly ranked Rimouski (btw Crosby had one assist).

Predictions for today -all 3 prospects are overlooked -0 for 3.

Anyone else care to predict?

I will venture a guess that JDD is invited; he was a late cut last year. The other two, well, your guess is as good as mine.

I think Pouliot will be invited, provided he is healthy, so he may not be able to attend anyway. I hope Brodziak is there as well. With the lack of playing time (and effective play) that I have heard about Drouin-Deslauriers, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets overlooked. There are a lot of good goalies in the CHL.

Any chance of a late invite, or an injury call up once Pouliot is healthy?

Does anyone know if any other Oiler prospects have made their respective home countries WJC team? IE Sweden?

The last I heard coming out of Sweden is that Fredrik Johansson is almost certain to make the team, Dragan Umicevic is a possibility, and Mishail Joukov couldn't get his Swedish passport on time, so he'll most likely play with the Russian team.

Actually I just looked at the box scores to the game, and Deslauriers did play.

Interesting call on Joukov there, do you really think he'd choose a national team at this tourney just based on his ability to get a green card in the next few days? Once you pick a national team in junior I'm pretty sure that you are only eligible to play with that same country for the rest of your life. If he would rather play for Sweden he should just sit this one out.

I'm glad that JDD got an invite, I didn't think he was having the kind of season that would warrant one. Hopefully he earns the #1 job and gets a great boost there (as in a gold medal).

Kyle's invite was a lock, and if Pouliot was healthy he probably would have been in ahead of Kyle. That would have been cool to have half the centers for team Canada from our group.
