Kovalev & Koivu's contracts...

I just forgot the length of their contracts. Is it 2 or 3 more years for Koivu?
And, is it 1 or 2 more years for Kovalev?

Thanks in advance for the info.

P.S.: this is definitely not a bashing thread
I know where this thread might be going, so...I'll insure the thread with some great KOVALEV stats (especially his playoff stats, 'cause that's when it all counts).

KOVALEV STATS:
regular season...770 points in 951 games
playoffs...84 pts in 100 games
playoffs with HABS...17 pts in 17 games (solid)

Thanks, but...

Are you sure Kovalev has 3 years left? (I thought he signed a 4 year contract, no?)
He already played 2 seasons for Habs (this season makes 2, no?).

Koivu signed a three year extension last season... I'm not sure if last year counted as part of it, or not, though.

I'm useful.

Kovalev will most likely retire in the Habs jersey after we win the cup in 2009

You think so? He'll only be 36. I guess it's possible he'd return to play in Russia, but I'm sure he'll still get plenty of NHL offers.

I remember thinking when we signed him that his contract was much too long, but he doesn't seem to be slowing down. He's never been the fastest skater, but his agility is still there and so are the hands. If he has a desire to stay in NA, I think he'll get some offers for sure.

As for websites, I like habsworld.net According to it both are UFA at the end of 2008-2009.

This one is good too! He shows what our cap would look like the next few years.

Our longest contracts go to Koivu, Kovalev, Bouillon, Dandenault, Begin, and Latendresse until after the 2008-09 season.
