With Rocky VI set to hit the big screen this weekend, Ottawa Senators forwards Chris Neil and Antoine Vermette came close to offering their teammates a sneak preview yesterday.

Neil and Vermette exchanged heated pushes and shoves at the side of the net following a practice drill, and only the quick intervention of heavyweight Brian McGrattan prevented the two from throwing punches.
Just thought this was interesting..From the Ottawa Citizen

Ottawa got distroyed by Boston the other night at home, they got booed right off the ice. So I expect them to come out flying tonight, if we can hold off that initial surge, I like our chances.

Marty will have a big game and carry the team to the win. (Hey, it worked the other night. )

This one talks about Tampa and is from the Ottawa Sun:

Quote:
Sources say Tampa Bay Lightning GM Jay Feaster, unhappy with the club's 13th- place standing in the East and lack of consistency, has been working hard to make something happen.

There's not a chance Feaster is going to fire coach John Tortorella, who led the club to a Stanley Cup in 2004. That means the blame is going to fall at the feet of the players and the Bolts' roster right now isn't good enough

Let's hope that our boys show some effort tonight.

Here's a nice article on Vinny, good quotes from Torts

Problem with that is Neil does NOT fight. He'll turtle and skate to the bench like the wuss he is.

Good article. All of it is true. I think many doubters are having second thoughts about Vinny this year and that is a very good thing.

Must shoot at Emery's glove side if he goes tonight. Glove hand has been hurt and it is slow. If it's Gerber just shoot it and it will go in. Hell, if Gerber goes tonight I predict Vinny Prospal will even net one. Yea, I said Prospal.

Still observing. 'Tis my way. It will be very nice if/when I can get rid of that nagging reservation in the back of my mind.

Roy v McGratton and Roy will be dead on the ice because the man cant fight.

Although McGratton is prone to getting knocked out on his feet by guys that actually throw punches, ask Andrew Peters

Let's see if they can put two wins together

Just because Torts led the team to a Stanley Cup doesn't mean that he shouldn't be just as much on the hot seat as the players if what he's doing isn't working anymore. What the hell? If the coaching staff isn't being effective, then they aren't - and that includes Torts. Big picture, damnit.

Neil will probably try to pick a fight with Holmqvist or Denis...whichever goalie gets the start like he did with Burke last year in the playoffs. Or maybe Fedotenko, we all know how much of a tough guy Ruslan is.

I wish I could watch this game, if not for this stupid winter storm keeping my family here in a Denver hotel room.

Any word on who is getting the start in goal tonight? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I don't know why but I'm kind of hoping for Denis for some reason. I have a good feeling about him tonight.

I haven't had a good feeling about Denis since October. Hope you're right.

I am just hoping for a full 60 minute effort tonight. Not 25, not 40, not 59.5. I am also going to keep an eye at the icetime everyone gets as opposed to when the nightly meltdown begins.

The interesting thing about the meltdown the other night was Marty and Vinny were somewhere between 12 and 15 minutes when the alarm started going off. The only guy over 20 minutes at that point was that guy we just can't afford to lose, Dan Boyle.

We have not heard, I would take a guess and say Denis, because he has the "Hot hand" right now, so to speak.

Prospal has gotta be close. He's getting too many good looks to keep this drought going.
