, now we have to stay discipline because im sure the refs are going to look at giving the habs some penaltys if they have a chance.

I hate that slashing rule when the strick breaks.
I hate the rule but I hate these new modern fragile sticks. Completely ridiculous. A ref blows the whistle near a stick and it breaks.

the new NHL has proven that you dont need to touch the guy to get a penalty

discipline can only take you so far

LOL NHL.com's gamesheet had 3-0 Habs for like three minutes. Hopefully they can put that back up.

6 penalties for the Flyers... this is crazy!! Total domination from the habs during this period, hopefully its going to stay this way!!

besides... we saw during the powerplay
Ryder-Koivu-Kovalev
Samsonov-Higgins-Latendresse (that lign wasnt bad at all)

I'm wondering if Carbo will try that again, I really like those ligns

I wonder how many teams use a 4th liner on their 2nd PP unit

the way the habs move the puck around on the pp is just sick. is it only me or should hatcher spend the entire game in the box for crosschecking?

philly simply cannot contain our speed - that being said they seem to cycle well everyone time janni 'the finnish apple turnover' ninimaa is on the ice

I, MXD, would like to nominate Philadelphia Flyers D-Men Derian Hatcher in the category "Best Involuntar(il)y Humorist".

Thoughts on the game so far :
- The Flyers didn't get the memo about not getting so many penalties against the best PP in the league.
- Nittymaki has been stellar so far.
- Kovalev and Samsonov are having a great game so far (so is the rest of the team)
- Pedneault : "Hamburger..."

A very entertaining, if one-sided, game so far. I wouldn't want to be rooting for the Flyers right now. The Habs need to stay disciplined and keep up the pressure; taking the second period off could be costly.

Is it just me or does the new Philly coach look not very coach-y?

That's so true, Streit is becoming a HUGE part of this team. Play well on the 4th line and keep getting times on the PP and PK, the guy must be really happy to finaly play and prove he's really usefull.

You seem overly eager to be critical lately. Especially when it's unwarranted.

It's no coincidence that a lot of penalties are being called in a game where a team that's been often (accurately) accused of not changing with the game. ie. continually opting for the slower, bigger players.

While Philly's made changes to that mentality, there's still a group of those dinosaurs on the Flyers that cost them.
