Team speed- Geoff Platt ?

Anyone know how he is doing at syracuse? In watching the detroit game the other night, it seems that we are lacking team speed. In what I've seen of platt, he seems to be one of the quicker players the cbj have. Does GMdm not like platt? I would think in todays Nhl, that platt would thrive.

Yah, so true. I get a little worried when I hear Hitch talking about how we can wear a team down with our size. True, that, but only if the other team slows down long enough for you to lay the body on them. Didn't see much hitting against Det-wa, suspect it was because they were never in the same place as our guys.

There is no such thing as speed. It's all mechanics and mathematics.

Yeah, it's actually a sarcastic and unfortunately snippy reference to a discussion I was involved in the waning pages of the first Detroit GDT. I won't link it, but feel free to check it out.

Everytime I see Platt touch the puck, it takes me back to a happy place.

Highly unlikely that Platt will get the call due to his size.( Look at Jeff Hamilton of Chicago who is about the same size and enjoying quite a year despite his size. Both he and Platt led their teams in pre-season scoring with Hamilton sticking so far.) That was evident at the start of the season when he (Platt) was sent down in light of the signing of Svitov which has worked out quite nicely. It seems teams like Columbus that has filled their quota of smallish players like Vyborny and Brule so Platt has very little chance to fill a spot. Picard is a better choice for a fourth line injury in any event.

Me too 23, and I think I've seen you there. The kid has "Netdar" ...heads for it like a bat out of hell.

Platt could be a sleeper call-up next year as his game matures and he adds some muscle. Picard maybe too, I'll grant that. Both in the mold of Fritsche who's increased muscle this year has taken his game to a new level. Either might be a trade sweetner, however, in a bigger deal, and this is actually my first guess.
