Well Lads and Shielas, I leave tomorrow from this paradise that is Southern California and will try to post from home when I can, I won't have the same access to a computer so thought I would say my goodbyes now. First, thanks for the hospitality. A right friendly lot you people are. I was worried prior to my first trip to America as you hear how it is too fast moving for anyone to care and while that were true in New York it wasn't in LA. If anything, I was treated with respect and open arms here. It is no wonder why this is the top of the drawer of all of America. (As obvious by the traffic on the bloody 405) Going to those Kings games was a dream come true and I will be towing home my Cammo autographed stick, my Frolov Stick and puck (nice lad) My Dave Taylor Picture and stick (great man) My Andy Murray team Canada Jersey and a ton of other fun things including a few other bits and pieces from a few of the nicer and softer Kings fans I met. The ladies here are as pretty as everyone in the world says they are and the ones I met were sweet as honey and pretty as a Tasmanian sunset. I am a bit old fashioned and hadn't dated since I became a young widower a few years back but am now sitting back on the bike and loving it.
Thanks for the fun here in case I can't get back on. Straight crack and a grand time from everyone.
To those of you who cheer the Kings and give the players your support no matter how you feel about the management especially at games and practice I can say thank you. Thank you for doing what I would (and others out of LA like me) do if I were there. You lot see what a treat it is to have an NHL team right there and how lucky you are to be in LA. We may not always agree with the owners or management but the team on the ice deserves our sweat and support if we are to ask for the same from them.
To those of you who actually pay to go to the games to boo your team well then, you lot shouldn't be allowed into the game. I know that isn't very nice to say but I can say that it is never the teams fault. The players deserve your support and if you want to boo someone for what is going on then walk up to stitch and boo him. Walk up to one of the wounded players and boo them. It seems to me that the further away from the players and owners you are the louder you whine and boo. The closer you are the better they are. Right girly if you ask me. So, take it from someone who don't get to go to the games no matter how much they want to that you are ingrates and should either change your ways, stop watching the team or, do what a man would do and walk up to Stitch or one of the players like I said and boo them with the same passion you do when they are seperated from you by a sheet of ice and a few dozen giants in yellow jackets.
Cheers again and to those of you from the boards here that got me pissed I can only say cheers and if you are ever coming down to my house I will have you lot married to a nice Kiwi "out back" shiela before sun rise. She might be a bit "wooley" but you will love her none the less!
Ta Da and cheers to all and GO KINGS GO! Win the cup! I will be one of a dozen or so Kiwi's watching like a mad man!
awh, punchy... sad to see you go so soon. It was truly a pleasure reading your posts. You are a great fan and I think it's safe to say all of us here that have gotten to read your posts, have learned a lot from you and your native tongue. Haha, you are such a cool person. I wish you lived in LA so we could still see you regularly around here.
If you get the chance to ever get online, don't hesitate to post! We'll miss you, punchy! It won't be the same without you here.
...but I enjoyed what little time I had posting with you. So glad to hear you had such a good time (sounds like you ended up with a rafter full of souvenirs, too) and I only wish I could've attended a game or two with you. Try to stay in touch and have a safe flight home.
