Wow. The Avs passing couldn't be worse. They're almost giving the Hawks gifts all over the ice. The only reason the Hawks aren't taking advanage is because they weren't expecting them.

I think the feeling will be the same for both 'tenders.

Hard to say. I think the Avs have gotten lucky. Lucky that they aren't down a goal also.

Theo

Cullimore

This could be a wild one folks. Khabi looks shaky as well. Only JUST got his toes on that through the crease pass from Bruno to Sakic.

This team goes no where in the next few years, if they have Theodore and Budaj as goaltenders. Budaj isn't capable of #1 job this year and we don't even know, if he's ever capable of #1 job. Theodore isn't consistent enough to keep his job. We need to get rid of Theodore and get someone who can make those damn saves. Let's face it people, Theodore has been shadow of himself for the last two years, why would it change now?
If we had Luongo instead of Theodore. We would have lot more wins and better team overall..

I read in Spector's column a few days ago the he thinks Theo could get bought out at the end of the season if he keeps playing the way he is.

Just speculation from Spector, though, not any evidence to the comment.

I believe it. He's making too much green to be a backup. 5 million .

if his contract was to be bought out, how much of it would count against the cap?

God, Altitude's intermission break's suck. They comeback from the first set of commercials and Kyle Keefe says they're gonna show us the games we're interested in, while they proceed to show one play in the Detroit-Minny game in the highlights, and then go back to commercials. Then when they come back they show highlights for only one more game. Apparently the fact that all the teams in the league except two are playing tonight isn't enough to warrant more than two highlights. Between that and the pathetic interviewing by Kyle Keefe, they might as well just show commercials the whole way through since it seems like that's what they're really interested in.

Not that Luongo isn't better than Theodore, but I'm not sure the answer is ANY high priced goalie. Look at the final four last season: Ryan Miller, Cam Ward, Ilya Bryzgalov and Dwayne Roloson... only Roloson had previous playoff experience and none of them were big contract guys. The key is good defense combined with solid goaltending. A high priced goalie like Luongo or Theodore makes it more difficult to have a balanced team in front.

Maybe last year was an abberation, but with the NHL opening up the game, it's more difficult for a goalie to take over games.

I thought they could buy out Theo at no cap-hit if they do it in that small window of opportunity in the off-season...

Interesting point view. I don't want miracles from our goalies, i just want them to make key-saves during crucial times. Timing is the key. You make a save and your team gets momemtum. Our goalies aren't doing that right now. Making those saves which could turn team around.
I don't think using 5-6 million for a goalie is too much, because i think goaltender is the most important player on the ice. We have 2 guys making almost 6 million, Sakic and Theodore. I think it's okay to have 2 guys making around 6 million per year, if they contribute for the team. See Ducks, Pronger and Niedermayer.

I think they tricked Wolski and told him he was scratched on Thursday.

Cullimore bleeding.. Double-minor.

2 minutes and 44 seconds left 5vs4 for third period.

Memo to Suuuper Jooooooeeeee:

blind-behind-the-back-passes are fine and dandy, but NOT in your defensive zone!

Great post, and a very good POV. Unfortunately, our 'solid' D unit includes Breezy making 2.5 mil.

As for the game great to see Wolski buzzing, and that was a great pass from Sakic. Joey looks great tonight, except for getting beat on the Hawks' second goal. Turgeon had some DOMINATING shifts in the 2nd. Commanded attention from the defense
