December always seems to be a turbulent month for our squad. The circus is literally in town and we've usually got a busy/tough schedule to play. With that said I think if we can pull through the rest of the month at .500, it should set us up well for a good run towards the All-Star break and a calmer schedule in March.

Here's too seeing a good effort tonight.

Yeah, I can't wait for December to be over either. Didn't we analyze the schedule when it was first released and noticed that the latter half is much easier than the first half? December really does seem like a make-or-break month most years, I'll give you that.

Gotta win tonight to avoid the 5-game losing streak.

I'm sure that the Rangers are going to win tonight, couse they don't want their fans to think about their losing streak on xmas.

Besides a win tonight would be a nice Xmas present I think.

Im inbetween hoping Rangers suck so Renney gets fired and cheering for the love of my life.
But Im predicting a Rangers victory knowing that after the win alot will get swept under the rug... again..

so here is to hope Rangers win 4-2 and Renney getting fired somehow

Is it the Incomporable Kevin Weekes in there tonight, or has Henrik recovered from his flu. Whats doin with Nylander and Malik?? Do we finally get a win tonight or will the 5 game winning streak be negated. Lets go Rangers.

Agreed, especailly before things get really ugly. But I do think the skid continues tonight. 4-0 Bolts. Lundy gets blown out of the net. Rhichards with 2, Vinny with 2. Gotta think neg. with this team for them to win.

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!

They need this one in the worst way.

Hope to watch Nyls and Hank play tonight.

GREAT NEWS: Orts had a huge game last night, scoring the winner with about a minute left, the games first star! - im so happy for him, can't wait to see him back on the team!!!

Maybe things will turn around.

Need a big game (3 points) from Cap'n Jagr. Tampa's been struggling this season, but St. Louis and Lecavalier have been hot, which doesn't bode well unless they get a good defensive effort (gulp).

Rangers 5, Tampa 3

That's good news about Ortmeyer, his return would help things!

They could really use Nylander and Lundqvist back. If neither play, not sure how they will keep up with Tampa, other than heroic effort from Jagr or Shanahan, and/or a rare gem from Weekes.

Perhaps Ortmeyer...

can help turn this team from the 21st best PK to a top 10 PK, which wouldn't hurt this team. Obviously better goaltending would help that too, as the goalie is a team's best penalty killer, but if Orts can help limit the quality shots, it could only help. And maybe, just maybe Renney will rest Shanny a bit a keep him off the PK.

yeah, lets make it happen tonight. turn the streak around again.

oh yeah, Ortmeyer got the GWG and had two huge hits that lead to the first goal for the 'Pack, he got an assist on that play. So 1G 1A last night, in a 2-1 win for the Wolfpack.

I don't see us winning tonight, but it would be a nice gift if they did. Even a point would be cool.

Shanny likes playing the PK, though. Will he let Renney rest him during PK time?

I'd hope so, but the players have a lot of power on this club.

Do you think the 21st ranked PK is more a result of a poor job by the PKers or the fact that this team has been taking so many penalties, especially when already down a man and thus giving the opposition a lot of 5 on 3 opportunities. They seem to average one 5 on 3 against per game.

After losing the last two must wins, I think we lose this one also.

5-1 Tampa with St. Louis getting the trick.

I predict a win to counteract all of the negativity in here. Although St. Louis getting a hat wouldn't hurt my pool.

I think the PK...

is bad as a result in all of the above. Poor coverage by the defensemen, forwards not breaking up the play and clogging the passing and shooting lanes enough, the goalies not making the saves and the fact that this team has been taking a lot of penalties. Some may say that the ranking is based on an average, so it shouldn't matter how many penalties they take, but for me, the more penalties you take in a game, the odds start to increase, meaning your guys get tired and frustrated and your percentages go down. In other words, if you take 6 penalties in a game, two in the first, two in the second and two in the third, I think you'd end up with a better perecentage in the long run than if those six penalties were taken in successsion in the first, second or third period.
