Game Notes

The officials are giving us our own two lumps of coal tonight...

Referees are.... Get ready... You will not believe it...

Kevin Pollock (33); Gord Dwyer (39)

Here are a few other things from game notes...

- The Bruins are 6-2-0 in their last eight games on the road.
- The Bruins are 3-1-0-1 lifetime vs. Columbus with a 22-10 scoring edge in those five games.
- On the road, the Bruins are 2-0-0-1 lifetime vs. the Blue Jackets with a 14-3 scoring advantage in those three contests.
- Tonight's game is the first meeting between these teams since Nov. 13, 2003 in Columbus (4-0 Boston win).

Anybody heard anything about Sturm's "lower body" injury? Is he in the lineup tonight?

I feel another Tim Thomas shutout coming on, but then again it could just be a hangover.

Could happen, the Jackets have been shutout EIGHT times already this season. I say we score, but it won't be enough in a 3-1 B's win. Good luck tonight!

Sure would be nice to extend the win streak to 4 games and keep the roll going after the Holidays. I'm going to visit my Gramps tonight and I'm praying he has Versus.

Watch out, you get spoiled. Like when I watch Center Ice, or the one time last week they had the Patriots on Regular Def, you feel cheated.

Since Hitch took over, the jackets have been playing solid D & Norena has been impressive. I see a low scoring game. Hope the Bs can pull out a win.

I've watched Football/Basketball and now Hockey on HD, and you can see the huge difference. I watched a game Columbus/Islanders during the intermission on Saturday, and it was pretty brutal.

Minor nitpicky thing, but the Jackets are 4th in the Centeral Divisiom, not second.

A few notes on tonight's game:

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/...s/bruins_blog/

Tim Thomas will start tonight.

* P.J. Axelsson will play tonight after missing the last 10 with a fracture in his left foot. Axelsson looked fine this morning. Habscheid said Lewis will make the final call, but barring a surprise, Axelsson will slot into his old position on the No. 1 line alongside Marc Savard and Glen Murray.

* Marco Sturm (lower-body injury) will be a gametime decision. Sturm skated this morning.

* Andrew Alberts, clipped by Michael Ryder in the left eye on Saturday, said his vision returned to normal by Christmas. The corner of his eye is still red and the gash on his cheek is purple and green. He will undergo a final vision test with Don DelNegro before suiting up tonight.

* Habscheid wasn't sure what the plan will be for Phil Kessel, who was expected to start rehabbing with strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides following his return from his Madison, Wis., home.

Hope he doesn't have to squint too much at the eye test.

Sounds purdy. Hopefully his eye is fine. Sounds it. So glad to hear/read that.

Maybe he'll score a goal tonight.

Well, just spent a couple hours reading the board since I haven't been on because of all the craziness that Christmas brings. Some would consider it a waste of time, but I consider it time well spent.

Great news Axe is playing!

After seeing the same opponents over and over again, I'm looking forward to seeing the Jackets.

Go B's!!!!!!!!!!!![/B]

Curious decision for Versus to have wanted this game back in the summer. Especially with a Rags/Isles tilt on tap.

Great to get Axe back, we did alright without him but he is really a large part of this team IMO. If Sturm doesnt play and axe goes back with savvy and muzz, I pray Tenkrat isn't put with Bergy and Boyes, Chistov should slide in alongside them.

just checked my tv....NO HD for me tonight according to the schedule. since its on versus the HD would be shown on channel 881 (INHD) for all comcasters but some other LAME shows r slotted in the time slot on 881 when the bruins play. and usually on channel 65 (versus) when u go to the info it says whether it will be in HD or not and it didnt say HD. sometimes they change it before game time but i doubt it. this stinksss but ill still watch anyways

Lets Go B's keep it going tonight. Glad to see Axey and Alberts in the lineup tonight. Also hopefully Marco goes. I wont be able to watch the next 3 games becasue I am in Aruba so have a good GDT so I can stay updated.

LETS GO BRUINS
