Mike Comrie

The Arizona Republic says alot of teams have called in for Doan/Nagy and Comrie. i was thinking, Comrie isn't a abd idea for our team. I've heard the knocks on his attitude etc, but gimme a break with that stuff already. I say we bring him in to center our 2nd line with Shanny on one side and Prucha on the other. I think we can aquire him without trading Prucha. But the question i ask you is....

Would you part with Prucha, or Dawes?

I seriously think we may be one of the teams interested in comrie. he is also young, noly 26 and has had multiple 50+ point seasons with a 30 goal season as well.

Prucha-Comrie-Shanahan.

Hes younger than Allison.

Hes average on faceoffs, so there no improvement there.

He's kinda one of those guys i see as a western conference player his whole career even though he was in Philly for a little while.

He's a quick player but is his game suited for the Atlantic Division type of play? especially if hes gonna get 2nd line minutes... Its gonna be tough to find that gritty two-way second line center the Rangers need.

He's OK. but i wouldnt sell the house for him.

What's your point? That was last year. The NHL has what have you done for me lately. Comrie was injured and hasn't put up any numbers. He's not going to fetch Dawes and a 2nd sorry.

Just the 2nd maybe.

Realistically, as much as Ranger fans will disagree, in terms of equal value, a reasonable swap would be Comrie for Prucha. Both are relatively young. Both have had 30 goal seasons. Both have had injuries. I'm not saying I'd necessarily make that deal, but, just like the Seabrook rumors, that's the type of value I'd expect back for trading any of Prucha, Comrie or Seabrook.

I can't believe how much you're overrating Dawes. But that is typical of any homer I suppose. And no, I am not a Phoenix fan or a Comrie fan.

If I were a NYR fan I would easily give up that much for Comrie right now. You're one solid centre and a top-4 dman away from contention.

The extra salary on Comrie's part would negate the 2nd round pick. Prucha has value because he's very inexpensive right now. In fact, the Coyotes might have to take back a salary to make such a deal.

I would do:

Comrie for Dawes

How do we know we don't lose him to free agency.

No way of knowing that. How much cap space do you have next year?

How many games of ours have you watched? That's so far off base it isn't even funny. We're a whole new defense and a #1 center away from contention of any sort. I'm a Ranger fan and I know that our defense is one of the worst in the league. It's fairly obvious.

I would think Comrie is 2+ and Kaspar is a bit over 3. Maybe I'm really overestimating Comrie's salary.

Lately it sure seems that way. But I'm considering the season as a whole and not just your last bad streak which you are obviously focusing on.

You do have a decent team with some good young dmen no matter how mad you might be right now.
