morrow out

hate to see this happen to anyone. i winch just thinking about it. wonder if it will actually help the preds game tonight, since historically we stink @Dallas and @SJ.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

and some other stuff. wonder what this means for our latest acquisition?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2710932

and from a former pred, good on him for getting a GW and beating a front runner(SJ).

Good luck to y'all tonight.

For whatever reason, Morrow being out seemed to help our team against the Avs. No idea why but it seemed to. Actually helped our non-existent offense.

Should be a good game tonight. Always seems to have that playoff atmosphere when you guys come to town.

Modano, Ott, and Lindros all scheduled not to play again tonight against y'all, just a heads up.

I don't know. The last time we played Dallas we only lost 1-0 on a sort of flukey goal. Also, it was the first game that we were without Arnott. We took a bunch of penalties in the third and only generated 3 shots on goal in the third. But we haven't won in Dallas since March '03. We got over not winning in Det, StL, LA, now we have to start winning in DAL, too, so why not start now.

GDT: Predators vs Star, 12.29.06

VS

Where: American Airlines Center.

When: 7:30 p.m.

TV: Fox Sports Net, Ch. FSNSW

Radio: 560-AM, WBAP-AM 820

Season series: Stars lead 1-0.

Predators storyline: The Predators have won seven of their last eight games, picking up five one-goal victories during that stretch. Nashville has lost six straight games in Dallas and has won just twice in 15 trips here. Left wing Paul Kariya has collected 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in his last eight games. Defenseman Kimmo Timonen has a five-game point streak, and has totaled one goal and five assists during that stretch. Nashville has at least one power-play goal in eight consecutive games. Center Vern Fiddler (shoulder) could return to the lineup for the first time since Dec. 16.

Stars storyline: Dallas has won three of its last four games, including Wednesday's come-from-behind 5-4 win at Colorado. The Stars collected three power-play goals in that game. Dallas has surrendered 86 goals this season, the third-fewest in the NHL behind Detroit and San Jose. Defenseman Philippe Boucher leads the Stars with 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) and fellow blueliner Sergei Zubov (six goals, 18 assists) is tied for second.

Predators injuries: RW Scottie Upshall (groin) and G Tomas Vokoun (thumb) are out, and C Vern Fiddler (shoulder) is questionable.
http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...19/1328/SPORTS

Stars injuries: LW Brenden Morrow (wrist) is out; C Mike Modano (hip flexor) and C Steve Ott (ankle) are doubtful; C Eric Lindros (upper body) is questionable
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont....4edf3507.html
  • Key Matchup: Are so ... Arnott
Was the departure of free agent Jason Arnott in the summer a friendly parting or an abrasive split? The Stars will see their old teammate for the first time since he became a Nashville Predator.

Key Stat: All over the map
Nashville ranks third in scoring at 3.24 per game and sixth in goals against at 2.54 but ranks 21st in shots on goal (28.2), 26th in shots against (31.9) and 21st in faceoff winning percentage.

    Notable
The Stars beat the Predators, 1-0, on Nov. 22. Mike Smith was in goal for that game, but Marty Turco is expected to start tonight. ... Nashville is coming off a 3-2 shootout win over St. Louis on Tuesday and is 7-1-0 in its last eight games. ... Nashville G Chris Mason is expected to get his 17th consecutive start. He is 14-5-0 with a 2.35 GAA and a .927 save percentage. ... Arnott has three goals in his last three games. ... Nashville is tied for fourth in the NHL in short-handed goals with seven.

awesome to have a GDT so early in the day!

The Avs underestimated the injury riddled Stars in their last game, did anyone see that? We have to be ready tonight.

wonder how i managed to mess this up and put the GDT on another post. actually i can guess. it was really late, it was my 3rd attempt(previous 2 crapped out while trying to include pictures). i had a really nice picture of rads SO goal, but i guess the puter gremlins got the last laugh. let's hope the preds can put forth a better effort. we need a win tonight to balance out the wings walkover of the straightjackets last night in the 3rd.

A win tonight would be great! Hopefully the team revenges their 1-0 loss. Lets start to turn around that record in Dallas.

I merged them, since the other post was all links related to the game that, alone, woudln't have generated much conversation. Just tidier and easier to have it all here.

Let's just hope the Predators pull out of Dallas with two points tonight and it is nobody's fault here, but rather can be blamed on a solid team effort by the club.

Scoring the first goal here was HUGE by the way. The Stars like to force you to play their slowed-down game, and if we can open this up, we can blow it apart.

Chris Mason, you're under arrest.

The charge? ARMED ROBBERY.

that was a soft call on Legwand, even the starts PBP guys admitted that. Meanwhile, we're getting tackled and it's not getting called.

Oh, and we go back to the box.

Hey- Stars fan here

Lately we've been making a lot of goalies look like Vezina candidates.... Is this just another in a long string, or has Mason really been this good all year?
