There's still lots of DEL hockey on German free TV stations!!!
You can catch DEL highlights on the regional ARD stations which are - like DSF and Premiere - transmitted free-to-air on Astra (digital, 19°E).
FRIDAY:
"HR/Hessen Fernsehen" shows highlights from the Frankfurt Lions and Kassel Huskies each Friday around midnight (The 10-minute show is called "Eiszeit").
(often re-runs Saturday 9.50am and between 5.15 and 6pm in the afternoon)
At about the same time, "BR 3 / Bayerisches Fernsehen" airs a newscast, "Rundschau Nachtausgabe mit Sport". This is a half-hour format, sports highlights start about 10, 15 minutes into the show. They usually have at least one home game from the 3 Bavarian DEL teams on the show, namely ERC Ingolstadt, the Nuremberg Ice Tigers or Ausgburg Panthers.
SUNDAY:
Several sports shows on the regional channels.
"Das Erste/ARD": "Sportschau", starts after 6pm, usually has highlights from the Premiere game.
"Das Erste/ARD": "Sportschau Telegramm" (7.50-8pm)
"WDR": "Sport im Westen" (usually 9.45-10.30pm, often has highlights from the DEG Metro Stars, Kolner Haie, Krefeld Pinguine or Iserlohn Roosters near the end of the show)
"HR/Hessen Fernsehen": "Sportkalender (runs about 45mins between 10-11pm, regularly showing highlights of the Frankfurt Lions and Kassel Huskies)
"BR 3 / Bayerisches Fernsehen": "Sport am Sonntag" (at 10pm) or "Sport regional": sporadic highlights from Augsburg, Ingolstadt or Nuremberg home games
late THURSDAY / early FRIDAY/ late SUNDAY:
German news channel "n-tv": highlights from the Thursday or Sunday Premiere games, every hour.
By the way, there's also a terrific website that provides
English coverage of the DEL (recaps, interviews):
