Maurice's Job is Safe

Just for casual and long distance fans and interested parties ...

GM Jim Rutherford spend most of his weekly interview show in local radio Monday evening defending his coach. He flatly stated that Paul Maurice is not going anywhere, and will remain the coach of this team this season.

Just letting you know.

Thanks JB, and I think this move is the right one for the team this season.

Actually, Nomo', when Rutherford says it, he means it. I'm sure trade rumors involving the Hurricanes will start surfacing these next couple of weeks.

God, the Hurricanes have just been SO awful so far, though. They need to shake things up. =\

Well, for one, the team has been much more competitive so far this year as the sheer amount of ties shows. The problem is that they can't seem to find the scoring touch for more then a 3 or 4 game period.

I do think that a shakeup is in order... and it very well might involve a usually highly reliable goal scorer (O'Neill) and one of the many solid NHL quality defensmen (Ward or Boughner) going somewhere for two younger forwards that have an offensive knack to add some spark to this team.

He is officially fired now! GM's lie. Don't ever believe anything. Fletcher said Pavel Bure would never be traded but he was the next day.

Alright guys, alright. We get the point. I simply don't enjoy one of my regulars getting laughed at for reporting something the GM said and lied about. Any more Maurice talk, go to the stuck thread that I believe HollyG was kind enough to stick for us.
