Forsberg-Sakic Question

In Forsberg's first season, how much did he play on a line with Sakic? Did they have good chemistry? Based on their play, would you say it had a good or bad effect on Forsberg's development as a center and the team's overall success in the first few years? Thanks 4 the input

Forsberg played with Simon and Nolan in his first season. Then in the first season as an AV, Forsberg played with Kamensky and Lemiuex I think.

Forsberg linemates:

94/95

Nolan, Simon

95/96

Kamensky, Lemiuex

There was a season Forsberg played with Sakic also, and it worked very well. They had chemistry.

Then a couple of seasons later Forsberg has played with Hejduk, Drury, Tangauy, Reinprecht, Yelle and Andreychuck.

Peter Forsberg also played with Ville Nieminen. Bob Hartley put him on a line with Shjon Podein and Stephane Yelle for one game to encourage him to shoot more, but he never really played with Podein and Yelle other than that one game.

Peter and Joe played together situationally for most of the time they were on the same team. I am not sure if it started in their first season together in Quebec City but late in games when a goal was needed or to give the offence an added bump, the Avs coaches would throw them out together.

Also when one or the other was not in tip top shape they might be put out together in order to help each other out. Although obviously when they were put on the same line it was usually Joe playing the center position.

As far as Joe's affect on Peter's growth as a centericeman, I am sure the positive example and skillset that Sakic displayed most likely benifitted Forsberg.

Didn't Forsberg also play quite a bit with Deadmarsh?
