GDT: Colorado@Nashville 1:00 PM MST (ALT) Happy New Year!

Theodore will get the start according to the Denver Post.

No word as to whether Kyle Cumiskey will make his NHL debut, but there was a nice article about him in today's Denver Post:

This could be a very ugly game, hopefully the Avs decide to show up, both physically and mentally

Theodore getting the start? The last few times I heard that prior to the game Budaj was in net. I'm really hoping they give Cumiskey a chance sometime soon, would be great to see the kid play.

For those who haven't gotten to see Cumiskey in person (like at camp):

http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/ci_4930560

Quote:
St. Louis - Kyle Cumiskey looks young - really young. Officially, he is 20, but he doesn't look old enough to get into an R-rated movie without a parent or guardian.

"He's the youngest looking National Hockey League player I've ever seen," said Avalanche television analyst Peter McNab. "If somebody hadn't told me, I might have guessed he was a Bantam player."

Cumiskey, called up by the Avalanche from Albany of the American Hockey League on Thursday, is used to such observations.

"Guys have given me a hard time about it my whole career," said Cumiskey, a 5-foot-10, 187-pound defenseman. "That's all right. I can take it."

I'll be watching this one from Old Chicago in Boulder, so hopefully that changes our luck.

The fact that we're not playing the Blues will hopefully change our luck as well.

Well, at the very least, this means that Q can recognize that Budaj has really not done anything wrong the last two games.

Obviously I hope the Avs win this one. But I won't be as upset if they lose it compared to the previous 3 games. Letting Dallas' B team score like they did was a travesty, and losing to the Blues 2 nights in a row while your special teams implode is inexcusable. The Predators are at least a team that one would expect to beat Colorado, which probably means that the Avs will paste them.

Looks like Sauer is playing...I wonder if somebody else is being scratched in favor of Cumiskey?

I don't know why Richie is scratched. His play has improved..all he needs is just another scoring winger.
