I too would love Renney to play these lines for at least a few games. Of course no matter how well they play really means jack sh|t in the end, when our All Star D lays down the red carpet for our opponents.
The only reason the Rangers came back was because in the minds of the Sens players, the game was over. I don't mean to be overly pessimistic, but come on, the "comeback" really meant nothing.
Totally agree. I have a few Rangers fans that texted me and called me during the game excited and thats fine... its entertaining... but i wasnt happy really. Unless they came back and got a point it meant absolutley nothing.
Couple of them this morning said "see the game last night?? they went nuts in the 3rd!"
I just shook my head. Where was the first 44 minutes?
Switching the lines is all good and fine, but no matter what lines they throw out there tomorrow, there needs to be some more passion instilled.
Why does it always take something negative to happen for this team to make a "statement"?
The only thing was the 3rd line was Hollweg-Cullen-Hall and the 4th was
Ward-Betts-Ortmeyer
Now...just move up Orts and insert Orr...so:
Hollweg-Cullen-Ortmeyer
Ward-Betts-Orr
What the 3rd period showed is that this team needs guys skating hard, fast, to the net and with a purpose...If so, and if the Rangers decide to go with Straka and Nylander as the top 2 centers (why not give it a try?) and Hossa on the 2nd (ditto--but not really kean on it),the rangers need to recall their best W to skate with Cullen for a more offensive bottom 6 line...
You're completely right...but that doesn't take away from the fact that these lines make much more sense than the other lines.
Yeah agreed. Just making sure that everyone was on the same page, with the end results being a negative thing .
Oh and BTW Balej, you're now my signature. I read that when you posted it last night, and it just made me chuckle. It really does boggle the mind, doesn't it?

I was at the game yesterday...they SUCK!!!! If it were not for Weeks it would have been 7-0. And Lundqvist did nothing, was he sleeping or hung over for that 3rd period goal or what!

Tell me how you instill passion? Win one for the gipper speaches? They get old real quick. Tell me how you would keep the fires burning every working day. In the NHL- professional hockey- it is an every day grind of airports, practices , media , games etc. Tell me how you plan to keep everyone motivated every minute of every day- If the players cannot do it themselves then get players that have that passion.

After last night a positive would be Pocks play, and I thought that Henke played well although he should have had that point shot, but he was screened and it took him by surprise so i'll let it slide even though I dont like it.
There is a positive angle to losing a 1-0 game...it's not disgraceful as some comments in other threads may suggest. 9 times out of 10 you only give 1 goal your going to come away with a point.
Something to work from....
Some of our younger players are showing real signs of progress:
I praise you for making this thread. I see way too many pessimistic Rangers fans on this board and even though I"m a Flyers fan, it sickens me to see people talk down about their team sometimes unless something needs to be said. I know you guys have a generally horrible playoff attendance record in the past 10 years, but you gotta keep looking up regardless, after all, the season isn't over yet and at least you all are still in the running for the playoffs.
