wolski vs stastny

sorry if this has been done. i see wolski on the scoring sheet almost every night over the last 2-3 weeks, but seems that stastny is quietly still around him for point production.
who is going to be the franchise player? or get more pts in the next yr or so?
if wolski is showing signs of what is to come i might change my thinking, at first i thought stastny was the creme, but wolski seems to have 90plus in him by the looks of play lately.
anyone else?

Wolski has the higher ceiling and is the more talented of the two. Stastny is a good 2-way centerman. Tough to choose which I would rather have. I glad we have both.

Point wise in their primes:

Wolski: 35-40 goals, 45-55 assists. Not great defence.

Stastny: 20-25 goals, 50-60 assists with solid 2-way play. More of a leader IMO as well.

Wolski has a really high ceiling, and if he so chooses he can be one of the better players in the league. I think we've seen glimpses of his offensive dominance he can one day obtain, if he can put forth a 100% effort every night I won't be surprised to see him hit that 100 point plateau.

Wolski will be an art ross trophy winner one day, based one the offensive game im seeing from him when he TRIES. TRYING comes with age and maturity, and thatll come. Stasnty is the future leader and guy who can get 50-80 points.

It is too early, but it gives warm feeling that our rookies are in the top 4 rookie scoring list ( right now).

Yeah but he has gone from a star leading a power offense to the quarterback of a first round knockout.

Dont get me wrong I love the two rookies I am just saying it is too ealy to call either the next super Joe.

not a freaking chance of him winning an art ross, c'mon you think wolski will outscore the likes of crosvy, ovechkin, malkin etc.? sakic never won 1 and it took peter until the very last game to win his, add to that i dont think a LW has won in a long time if ever, there is zero chance of wolski winning an art ross, he might finish in the top 10 one year but id say hed max out there.

You think malking, Ovetchkin, and Crosby will win every year? Wolski will compete with them, look at him now hes outscoring them regularly, he just has to put the damn effort in

The only way those three don't win the Art Ross for the next fifteen years is if they all get hit by injuries in the same year or another generational talent comes around.

I think Paul Stastny will end up being the better of the two players when it is all said and done. Wolski does have the potential to be a 50 goal scorer, but Paul Stastny, IMO, has the potential to be a 30-40G, 100P player every year of his prime.

In my eyes, Wolski will end up being a very good goal scorer. I think he will become very dominant, yet not as good of a captain as Stastny. I think Stastny has more heart to play the game and more leadership qualities with a good scoring touch. While Wolski would very much appreciated to any team when he gets into his prime, I think the Avs would want Stastny more because of what he brings to on and off the ice. Its a pretty good debate though. Super-scorer over Captain. I hope that the Avs organization will never have to make that decision. I feel that they both will end up being very vital aspects to Avalanche organization and that we should lock them both up now (while we can.)

Just my opinion though.

wolski is good, but please dont try to compare him to Ovechkin/Malkin/Crosby. Those 3 are superstars, and will be forever. They are a special type of player that is rare. Effort or no effort, Wolski is not in their leagues, really, those 3 are in a league of their own.

Stastny will wind up being the more complete player, but man, Wolski has looked great lately.

I mentioned it in another thread, it feels great having these two guys. Reminds me of having Drury and Hejduk as rookies in the same season.

Anyone read Stastny vs Lattendresse in the prospect board?

Kinda funny, someone asked: "Yan or Paul?"

i believe gretzky, lemieux and jagr had no problems sharing the art ross for over 15+ years, not saying the 3 younger generations are comparable to those 3 legends but they have the potential to do the same thing.

and i dont recall wolski outscoring those 3 regularly
