Proposal: Lundquist and Cullen for Brad Richards?

Islanders fan here. Not trolling, just wondering: would you make this trade?

Montoya may be as good as Lundquist, and Richards obviously brings something to the table.

Just as soon as you can tell me WHY we would do such a dumb trade.

You want us to trade a top 10 NHL goalie AND a 2nd or 3rd line center for JUST Brad Richards? Granted Richards is a good player, but still, that's a really bad deal.

Wow. That's one of the dumbest trades I've ever heard. I don't mean to be obnoxious, but dude, please. That's ridiculous.

I guess the water your drinking out on the Island isn't Kosher, (I'd like to have a sip of some, next time I want to feel funny), that trade is just dumb.

C'mon - the guy prefaced this as a question and indicated he was not trolling (i.e. I don't think he was being a jerk). I think we need to lighten up a bit. Just for the record - there is no way we would make this deal; but lets not kill the poor guy!

Excuse me for not being rude, obnoxious and close minded, but , still, I wouldn't make the deal...

I have no problem in givng up Cullen if only to get rid of his wasted 3 millilon a year contract for a 3rd liner...And Richards is a damn good player..We're talking a player who at 26 has averaged 80 points a season for over 3 years, won a PO MVP and would be out #1 Center..These things cost....And you gotta give to get...But the Rangers need LUNDQVIST, who I see as untouchable, even more then a C they might be able to get in FA next season.....And Richards' contract is a killer....

Now. Montoya, Cullen, and ??? might be another story...

A good goalie is far more important to the team than a good playmaking center. Lundqvist has already proven that he can be one of the league's elite, while Montoya is having trouble proving anything on the AHL level.

The guy was just putting up a decent offer. I've seen FAR worse around here.

Would i do it? No. but i would def negotiate it.

Montoya, Cullen and Malik for Richards + low pick or decent prospect.

Something around that deal. But i really cant see the Rangers Getting rid of Henke anytime soon.

Interesting idea but the Rangers wolnt trade Lundqvist, if we ever do, until Montoya is on his heels.

I'm all for it, we give Cullen and Lundquist, and get back Brad Richards.

Now, with Lundqvist in net, Straka-Nylander-Jagr and Prucha-Richards-Shanahan up front, we're doing much better!

We only need to find out if we actually have some Lundquist in the system first though.

You can't eat the cookie and keep it. If you trade Lundqvist, it's quite hard to play him in net. As for your last sentence, I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

As for my opinion on the trade: absolutely no. No way. You can just chop off your leg if you leave your team without a goalie, especially this team with its defense.

It was a joke about the misspelling of Lundqvist. He was saying "Sure, trade Lundquist as long as we can keep Lundqvist."

I would do your deal, but Tampa would have to take a Kasper or a Malik and send a 2nd pick our way to offset the salary.

Not one iota of hope that the Rangers would trade Lundqvist. Montoya in a deal for Richards no doubt.

Is it just me or would you not rather have Lecavlier than Richards?
