OT - Around the League

According to the FLyers blogger in Eklund's site Forsberg left the game today with a right groin strain and could be out a while. Gotta feel sorry for the guy.

Also San Jose demoted Matt Carle, who was averaging 19mins a game and had 21 points and Bernier who had 25 points playing 15mins per game. Both moves real surprises to me.

He is one of the best Europeans ever. I'd rank him somewhere around #3 or 4.

I would of......about four years ago. He just hasnt performed well enough his entire career for me to consider him a top 5 european. When he was healthy on the Avalanche he was scary good though.

Anahiem gets taken out by Detriot 2-1 in regulation, after the hour long ceremony.

Jagr, Bure, Forsberg. At least in terms of modern European players. I can't speak for previous generations. Mogilny should probably be in there somewhere, too. I look at it in terms of talent and production when healthy. He shouldn't be penalized because he's a bit fragile.
Ovechkin/Malkin might end up there as well.

I would also put Hasek, Lidstrom and Kurri in front of Forsberg. And because he was hurt so much, I guess a case can be make about the likes of Mogilny and Selanne, and why not Fedorov. But value wise, when healthy, I think he's right up there with Jagr and Hasek and Lidstrom, all equal IMHO, since they bring different things to the table, but all valuable.
