Calgary signs G Kevin Lalande

Terms were undisclosed. I saw it on the score ticker. Just to let you guys know he is an all star goaltender in the OHL, great positionally, and is very underrated. I know you have Kipper but Kevin could become your backup and when kipper goes maybe a starter.

He has a few bodies to climb over to achieve that feat. Who knows though.

true but he is truely underrated cause of his GAA. His GAA is over 3 but that is because he faces 40+ shota a night. His Save% is around .920

Irving, Lalande and Keetley in junior and Krahn/McElhinney in Omaha. Flames goaltending depth is strong.

And Jimmy Spratt in college, possible darkhorse down the road.

Krahn is a UFA at seasons end though

Good move, is Keetley signed? If both are signed I think Krahn's future is definitely in trouble, right now McElhinney definitely gets the nod for third string goalie over him IMO. Krahn needs to step up immediately, his time to prove he should get another camp is now.

The only concern I have about this signing is that he has three broken bones in his hand sustained from the fight in Erie which could sidline him for 4 - 6 weeks. Last season he injured his knee in February which ended his season. I hope he's not injury prone.

hes not injury prone as much as hes ot lucky. According to him(I go to same school as him in Belleville) it should only sideline him for no more than 2 or 3, if that. And he says its in 2 places

That's good to hear. A friend of mine broke a couple of bones in his hand in a fight and he's still not back to normal after about 2 months.
The thing with Kevin's hand injury is that it could have been avoided. When I read the remarks of the Bulls coach, he sounded very annoyed about what took place. Hopefully their #1 goalie will be back as quick as he says so they can make a playoff run.

Ya re coach is pretty tough, but it couldve been avoided. Basically the other goalie challenged Lalande and he came out. Heres the video of the fight, Lalande is in Black,

I hadn't seen the video, but it looked like Lalande got the short end of that stick. And a broken hand to boot.
