Aw man. Poor Richie, I hope we get to see him again. But from what I've been seeing Guite is doing a good job in Albany.

This is dumb

I love Laaksonen, but there is no way he should be in the line up ahead of Richardson.

Guite also goes 6ft, 1 and 211 lbs; a considerable size difference over Richardson. Not a bad move. Richardson is still a very young guy with, IMO, 2nd line potential if he can find his scoring touch. Let him go to Albany and get bigger minutes. Guite has been on a nice point streak in Albany and has NHL experience to boot.

Guite has put up 25 points in 33 games.

Should only be for a few games. Let Richie get his confidence back by scoring in the AHL then call him back up. However I agree with Jori that it should have been Laaksonen instead.

This is exactly what I'm thinking too.

Laaksonen would have to pass waivers, Richardson is on a two-way contract. No brainer. Laaksonen has played poorly lately but there is a good chance another team would have plucked him for nothing.

Anyone seen Guite play? Is he good penalty killer?

Exactly. He's still good penalty killer or at least he was last year. He needs new start somewhere else.

With all do respect...you take your chances with Laaksonen clearing waivers. Richardson has been misused imo. Yeah, he'll get more playing time in the AHL, but there are less deserving players remaining on the team because of their one way contracts. Go give em hell in Albany Richie

Richardson should be brought back up in a few games, and Laaksonen should be traded.

Maybe this was done, because we needed more cap-space. Guite makes 450,000 dollars per year when Richardson makes little bit over that.

Avs don't play for a few days and Richie is coming off an injury. Probably just trying to get Richardson's confidence up as well as let him work out the kinks with his injury. Hopefully he dominates and the Avs actually give him scoring line minutes with scoring line mates. Like I've mentioned, almost everytime he's been put on one of those lines he's been able to contribute offensively.

It sucks to see him go, but I'm hoping he'll get to log a lot of minutes and help him refine his offense. See you soon Richie.

Why didn't they recall McCorminck. he is a big forward who canhit hard and drop the gloves if needed. He has a problem scoring but he has more NHL experience and he knows the other players well

Because McCormick showed nothing when he came up here the first time. He just didn't seem to fit the first time around

I agree. He wasn't playing very aggressive and has generally seemed to regress over the years instead of getting better. I'm hoping he gets his hitting game on track and finds a way to score some gritty goals.

On another note, hopefully they give Richardson a ton of time in every situation, get his confidence up. When they recall him I'm hoping he'll finally get a chance to play some scoring line minutes.

McCormick had to clear waivers to go down and, unless I am mistaken, would have to clear re-entry to come back up. He may not be much but some teams with a lot of injuries or just looking for some depth could get him and leave the Avs with half the bill.

Wolski on Dater's radio show just now: "Brad's definitely upset about it."

Poor guy, I'd be pissed too. He thought he made it, we all thought he made it.
