Whoa....

Oilers are gonna have a Czech line!!!

man im tempted to watch this game, but i dont wanna jinx it, so my superstitious streak continues.

A question, can any venture a guess to the matchups against the Dallas team will be??

We should win, they played and lost last night.

I say Edmonton 3 - Dallas 2. As long as they play like they did against Florida... if not, a Dallas blowout.

I see MacT's personality type is of the "take the bandaid off fast!" variety.

If it's gonna be painful, he'd rather get it out of the way early.

I guess its a good thing we're playing at home so we can get the matchups we want. I really don't see the Czech line accomplishing anything other then getting destroyed defensively on the road.

I think MacT is probably as concerned with having Lupul (-16) and Nedved (-20) on the same line as he is with forming an offensive all-czech unit.

That said, Horcoff and Smyth need to produce without Hemsky. They can't be complimentary players, they need to be the leaders of this team. I think the all Czech line will suprise some people with their ability to carry the puck into the opposition zone and develop things off the rush, especially Nedved and Hemmer. If they get pinned in their own zone there could be some concern, but no more with Hemsky on the wing than Lupul.

Don't worry about it. It's just one of those "Tally up another one for OntOilFan stupid comments". (He/She) makes dumb comments left right and center.

Hmm.. per TSN:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname=

Projected Lines vs. Dallas:

Forwards:
Smyth - Horcoff - Lupul
Torres - Stoll - Pisani
Sykora - Nedved - Hemsky
Jacques - Reasoner - Pouliot

Goaltender:
Roloson

Notes: There's a chance these are somewhat decoy lines. The line of Hemsky, Smyth and Horcoff will likely start together. Pisani will go with Nedved and Sykora. - TSN

Forty-one of their 109 goals this season have come in the third period (11th in NHL). Thirty goals against in the third put the team in 25th place ... Jarret Stoll has two goals and six assists in his last six games. - Edmonton Journal

I'd much rather see the czechmates together, and not break up our PoinTS line.

I also think that MacT would rather give this line a go at home as opposed to on the road where he has less control over the line matching. Maybe the hope is that the all Czech line can get some confidence/chemistry right away at home with the easier matchups. Although Dallas doesn't have too many soft lines per say, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
It will also be interesting to see which defence pairing MacT tries to have out with this line.

what's the over/under on the Czech line getting scored on? I'll say 5 minutes...and take the under!

3-2 Oilers

With Dallas coming off a hard game last night if the Oilers play with a full 60 minute effort they should win this one 3-1

The Oilers have a pattern of making tired teams look great.

I don't know why people call his/her comments stupid. He/she is always bang on. The Oilers have stunk it up thus far. Fat loaded contracts and they get lazy.

Defense is one of the worst in the league. Offense is vastly overrated. Goaltending has been average the last month. He/She calls it like it is. No harm in that.

We are barely a mediocre team right now.

I don't think Oil will win this one because after watching Dallas last night, Turco is on top of his game and Canucks were lucky to get a win out of that. The only way Canucks won was because of Luongo stealing the game.
