iggy lef the game after a fight with Allen... he did serve time in the box but when the penalty was over he went straight to the dressing room... the fan 960 is reporting he is out with a lower body injury
Maher is saying he heard that the injury didn't occur during the fight and it occured when he has hit along the boards. Hence the Lower body injury that the flames said he had. If thats true than thats positive news for Flames fans aswell as for you poolies who have Iginla. As long as the injury isn't too serious and its just a tweak or something.
According to Peter Maher, during Playfair's post-game media scrum, the coach said that Iggy was hurt prior to the fight when Allen hit him along the boards. He has a lower body injury.
Maher then added that it was likely a twisted left knee
Iginla 4-6 weeks I heard at the Dome' via Flames fans after the game(seriously doubting that now as credible source(s) are being posted here).
Kobasew got layed out All I saw was Kobasew's head down, then getting folded up courtesy of Allen. Only thing is... he was hurt; so difficult to enjoy the hit (opposition fan or not).
i have also heard the same as many flames fans on the flames radio broadcast... and IMO that is a more reliable source than some toronto TV station (the score) saying his hand is broken

Back on topic, if Iggy is out for a long period of time, Calgary is going to struggle big time. Especially with the lackluster play of Kipper these two weeks, I can see you guys dropping to around 10-12 place in the Western Conference.
Anybody know whats up with Kobasew? Hopefully its nothing serious for either of them.
they said he was fine but i have my doubts... although i dont ever remember him having any sort of injury nevermind a concussion... but he was really wobbly when they helped him off the ice and he did hit his head pretty hard on the ice... thank god his helemt stayed on... i really hope he is okay... his play has been very good this year despite the lack of credit he has been getting... i dont think it would have shocked any flame fan if someone said Kobasew was on pace for 35-40 points... most just would have assumed that meant 20-25 goals... not on pace for 10 goals and 25 assists... he is really showing a new dimension to his game... hopefully when he gets back he can bury some chances and really put those 2 parts of his game together

With Iggy out I think you can expect the Flames to go back to playing sound defensive hockey, which would bode well for Kipper. Also unlike past years, this season we have been getting secondary scoring, so others will be expected to pick up the slack.
Jarome Iginla who was wearing a brace on his left knee and didn't skate at practice has a sprained MCL and will be re-evaluated next week. Forward Chuck Kobasew was advised to stay at home. He suffered a head injury and is classified as day to day until further tests are done to determine the severity of the injury. Daymond Langkow is not skating either. He took a clearing attempt off the foot last night. - TSN
