Agent: Fleury would accept junior demotion

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=62881&hubName=

i wonder what the deal with this situation is? yesterday i read that fleury hints at forgoing his bonus clauses to stay in the nhl. so immediately his agent steps in and tells him that's not going to happen. and releases a statement and removes all doubt. on the one hand, as a business decision, it makes sense that an agent would interject on a comment that could be driven by childhood dreams of playing in the nhl and what not, disregarding his career future. on the other, the obvious cold reality of a "this-will-undercut-your-earning-power" decision kind of bothers me. i wonder what fleury's true feelings on this issue are.

Entry-level contracts can't be reopened. If Fleury is sent down, he'll have to accept it. There's not much more to it than that.
