The debate on CKAC tonight...

Is Huet's and the PP's work giving a false image of how good the Habs are this year?

I don't know why people are becoming obssessed with this. They're part of the team and of course their play is gonna affect the overall performance of the team. We should just be gratefull that we have a great goalie and a good PP ( best in the league ) and appreciate them as part of the team. Because they are.

Christ...Why don't we get a : Is Saku's great start to the season giving a false image of how good the Habs are this year? Where would the Ducks be without Pronger, Selanne and Neidermeyer? Or Is Martin Brodeur's brillo giving a false image of how good the Devils have been in the last couple of seasons?

I hope this doesn't jinx us.

Sorry if this has already been discussed ad nauseam.

Good night.

Or maybe can we say that the second line is giving us the real image of the team? Or maybe that the real image of the team is the points ratio of Downey depending of icetime and also of the positioning of the moon? CKAC.... lol

Thats a valid question 10 or 20 games into the season.

But were pushing 40 games here. Thats half the season Huet kept the play up and the PP has been clicking at that rate. At this point we can't truely claim that either is a "fluke" and only obscuring the true position of the team.

If anything is "obscuring" the true image of this team its the lack of production from our 2nd line

Kovalev has 4 points himself the last two games and I'm drunk and need to get to bed. I still know my hockey, though.

I'd be a little annoyed if Kovalev didn't score more points than Plekanec honestly.

As for Samsonov

Over-reaction from you . What's the point ? Can they debate about hockey , as we are doing here everyday ?

I understand what they were thinking , because we are in a really good position , and are talking more and more about being at one center , of being cup contender . But when you look at it , that's true that the team is minus in the 5 on 5 situation , that the second line sucks from the begining , and that Huet won several games alone .

I don't think that Pronger or Selane have won that much games by themselves .

Once you said that , it doesn't mean that we are so far to be that good . That means that CKAC debates are for Hab fans , and that we love to talk about hockey .

Last TWO games. Where was the second line the previous 38 games?
We all know that Huet and lines #1 , #3 are chiefly responsible for the teams' current record. All three are in a bit of a funk right now so the second and fourth lines must pick up the slack. The recall of Lapierre will bring much needed energy at this time, hopefully Grabs will too though it's unclear whether he'll even play.
It is a legitamit debate as to how good this team really is though.

You know what they say..."What have you done for me lately" is all that matters.
