So long as we have a healthy Higgins and Koivu I believe this team can do anything in the post-season.

I love my habs! I still defend them even though they are losing. There's not one guy on this team that I don't like. Sure, I think we could upgrade here and there but overall, how can you complain?

I would like CH to come in under the radar and surprise people but since the cat is out of the bag...I wouldn't be surprised if CH can win the Cup either this year or in the next few years!

I was purposely avoiding this thread, but I thought that I would reply and state that some of us have more modest goals than a cup win. I know it wouldn't get a banner raised, but I'd be more than satisfied with a trip to the conference finals. Plus, what will we ***** and moan about if the Habs don't lose in a heartbreaker? (kidding! knocking on wood)
I'd love for them to win a cup, but I don't believe in blind faith on a fundamental level. Tempered expectations for tempered results.

same as me, now, i would more then happily party if we were to win the cup, but i dont think its a realistic goal for this season. We have a good team, not a great team. We still have things to improove before comming a great team and a stanley cup contender. 5 on 5 play has to improove, we wont go anywhere in the playoffs if we cant score at even stregnth, if you live and die on special teams, your chances of going far, aint big.

Lots of things can happen. A team has to be lucky with injuries to go through, as well as have good depth, talent, coaching and goaltending (Chris Osgood notwithstanding). This team has depth, talent and goaltending, as well as coaching, although it could perhaps use an elite defenseman. Much hinges on injuries then. If the defensive corps gets decimated like Buffalo's last year, or anything happens to Huet, younger talent like Price or Halak would have to step in. Don't know if that's feasible.

But the team is a credible threat to win it all, for the first time in about 10 years.
