I still say they need to add at least one defenceman before Wednesday. Someone like Phil Oreskovic. They have the goaltending and the offence, but another D would put them WELL over the top.

I call this the "Inspirational Player Trade".

A player who is deaf in one ear for a player who is blind in one eye.
I am really proud of both. I still wish that I could have met Steve Downie before this... but I can't...
Good Luck to them both.

Seems like they gave up a lot for him - I guess we'll find out in March whether or not it was worth it.

i think this is a great trde for both teams, Kitchener with the loss of Lashoff, McGrath, Turple, and Fraser i don't think were expected to contend but they still have some solid pieces and when they started out so strong, and had such good goaltending, and with london not being as powerful as they were the last few years, this could be kitchener's last year before they have to reload, so they seem to be going all out, i think they should have a mid level team next year, but won't be able to compete iwth a sarnia team that will be going for it, and a london team with an 19 year old Mason and Gagner, with Kane, so i think this is the best move for them, and with Peterborough so close to being out of the playoffs they gain 3 2nd rounders which should really help them in the reloading process and bring them back to championship form in a few years.

Or you could also check the OHL's, Kitchener's, or Peterborough's website.

It is pricey, but I'm pleased that Kitchener didn't have to give up one of the young defensemen in the deal. Not to mention that one of the 2nd rounders came from Brampton in the Auffrey deal, so the cost isn't as huge a hit as it could have been.

OHLAG, well done!

Storm, let me know when you're headed our way! I think a beer to celebrate this one might be in order!

I definitely will let you know. I have to get him to sign my Team Canada jersey. It's already signed by Jeff Carter - I want both #7s that played for Team Canada that are Flyers property.

I think the Petes fans are going to love Bastien. The kid has one gear - GO! He's one of the fastest skaters I've seen in ages, and he's starting to get his scoring touch back. VERY good on the PK.

He had some issues last year being flattened (and I mean FLATTENED) as he crossed the neutral zone, but he seems to have learned from his mistakes.

He skates with his head down a lot (and I mean A LOT).

Yeah, he did. He's gotten better at paying attention this year. There were a couple of times last year where I figured he was not going to get up from a hit (the St Mikes one in particular).

Hmmm

Wow. Bastien and 3 second rounds picks. That is a lot of second rounders regardless of where they came from.

If it works, good trade. If Kitchener comes up short, very painful. Time will tell.
