This is what a 6-8th seeded team is all about. Some nights we can beat anyone, other nights we can lose to anyone. That's what happens when you have significant holes on the roster. Who's fault is that? Sather, or whoever is making these decisions. He made a mistake with Ozolinsh last year, he misread Cullen for a 2nd line center and he didn't address our problems at the blue line.

Hey, I don't care where they're from. A guy like Tallinder would certainly have my liking on this team. They could be from Mars as long as they are tough, can handle the puck, be in position, check and clear the frigging crease.

Isn't that the Rangers management tradition since 1994?

At least he coulda laid a whipping on Witt and done more than exchange a few words. Let's be honest...Dale and Malik are pretty even skaters...Dale hits, plays tough, protects guys, etc. I know he's horrible...but it goes to show how bad Malik is. He's a Purinton who can't do half the things Dale does physically

When you have a team that is so top heavy in scoring and relies tremendously on their goalie defensively, it's not hard to see how they are inconsistent.
Alright, well there are more problems than the play of Malik, and in my opinion, a lot of them are on Renney. As I've said before, we're not a Cup team, we're not one player away, but we're also not a .500 team. Maybe I really am placing too much blame on Renney, who knows? I see lots of flaws in the way he manages the team. But that's just me, I guess .

Renney can bench Malik and Rozival all he wants but it won't turn them into true 1-2 defenseman. They are 4/5 defenseman at best throughout their entire careers. Nothing will change that. They will always make mistakes and they will not get any better than they are now.

he said he was pissed off and something about the team can't depend on Jagr doing all the work. Also he hinted that that team underestimated the Isles, especially with the way the teams have been playing

Nice to see Renney really PO'd. Personally I think he is fed up with Sather/Renney not doing anything personnel wise. It is obvious that, again, we have far too many finesse players, up front and on the back line. You are not going to win in the playoffs with the right blance of grit and toughness to create the time and space for your skill players.

Samuelsson.. man.. there we had a guy who, quote: "When the tough gets going there are no boundaries for me. If there is a puck in front that can result in a goal and I have any possibility to stop that from happening I take that chance, whether I risk my own or somebody else's arm."

You hear that, Rangers huggy bears? Tough, no boundaries, stop goal... must be unheard of today.

Love em both. Yeesh if we could ever get someone like that again. A Dave Karpa would be cool right now too...

The head coach is a waste of a life.

The team has no balls.

The defense sucks.

We have a captain who plays scared of some guy who should be penalized about 50 times a game for the stupid **** he does away from the play.

I'd sit Hall and Ward. I'd bring up Korpi and Byers and have them apply pressure. I'd get rid of Kaspariatis and sit Malik for a few. Play Pock, Rachunek and give Baranka a shot. Can't be worse than what we've been getting. Thats what I would do!

But this is where we disagree...

His personnel(sp?) decisions are terrible... His line matching doesn't work, and he gives way too much ice time to the Twin Turnover Towers..

Rozi and Malik are AT BEST #4 or #5 d-men...

Prucha is misused IMO... I don't even know what to think of this team anymore..

I'll be glad if they make the playoffs
I think the best way to sum it up is that Sather and company constructed a flawed team that is compounded by Renney's poor decisions.

Too much money invested in a VERY mediocre defense. The Ozo move is a perfect example about taking on multi-year contracts.

The money this team has invested in medicore defenseman goes a long way towards getting a legit second line center (and I think the team still could've had Cullen for it's third line) and getting an upgrade on defense.

This team has too much money tied into too many meidocre players, especially on defense.
