I'd sit Hall and Ward. I'd bring up Korpi and Byers and have them apply pressure. I'd get rid of Kaspariatis and sit Malik for a few. Play Pock, Rachunek and give Baranka a shot. Can't be worse than what we've been getting. Thats what I would do!
Korpikoski and Byers are NOWHERE near being ready right now.
They've got a future but those guys are NOWHERE near ready to be thrown into that type of role just yet, they are still very much developing.
Isbister, Dawes and Callahan up
Girardi (an AHL All-Star this season!) and Lampman up
but thanks to the new CBA... thats out of the question...
Callahan is hurt, Dawes doesn't change the defense and don't even get me started on Isibister.
Girardi and Lampman are AHL defenseman, nothing more and are sadly not an improvement over what you see.
The fact that they were are looking towards Bryce Lampman, Dan Girardi and Brad Isbisters as "recalls" tells you all you need to do about where the team is at in development right now.
how disappointed and desperate must we rangers fans be wishing dave karpa back...
I'll take Dave Berg and Bruce Driver while I'm at it. Everyne but Malakhov-Poti. However..interesting I bring that up because the way Poti is playing he'd be one of our top 3
id waive/trade malik and call up someone from hartford if Rachunek is still hurt. Id call up one of Baranka, Lampman, Girardi, Liffiton. Id deal Hall, scratch Hossa and J Ward and call up Immonen, Dawes Callahan. Waive Orr once suspenstion is up

at least there is light at the end of the tunnel... Dan Girardi has been named a starting defensemen for the AHL all-star game... he can't be THAT bad...
I think the best way to sum it up is that Sather and company constructed a flawed team that is compounded by Renney's poor decisions.
Too much money invested in a VERY mediocre defense. The Ozo move is a perfect example about taking on multi-year contracts.
The money this team has invested in medicore defenseman goes a long way towards getting a legit second line center (and I think the team still could've had Cullen for it's third line) and getting an upgrade on defense.
This team has too much money tied into too many meidocre players, especially on defense.
And the scary thing is Rozy and Malik will have nice looking stats at the end of the season. Both will have good point totals and good +/- because of Jagr. Do you think management will realize their true value as players or fall in love with the inaccuracies of the stat sheet?

Poti still doesn't impress me all that much.
This defense is no differant than last years, it just doesn't have Jagr to cover for it and it's been exposed for the better part of a year now.
Poti wold not be making a difference on this team.

At the beginning of the season was Travis Zajac ahead of either of these guys??? I doubt it. What the Devils and many other organizations do is put guys in roles in which they can succeed. For some reason other teams bring up young guys and settle for 8 or 10 goal season and let them learn the game at the NHL level. I'm no expert but I can't see how bringing up a kid like Byers or Korpi for 5 games is going to destroy his future. If he can't hack it; send him back down. The experience of playing those five games in the bigs can only help. On the other hand he may surprise you and show that he has the ability to elevate his game to compete at this level. Never know!

Maliks play tonight was quite simply Vomit Inducing. He looked uninterested, slow and sloppy all night long. The main problem with our backline is that we have a nice #3 and #4 combo in Toots and Ward and then we have four #5 and #6 D men. We don't have a #1 or a #2 D man. We don't have one in Hartford either. Hopefully Marc Staal develops into a top 2 but that doesn't help us right now. To be honest I am not sure where we are gonna go to fix this problem either, top 2 D men are tough to trade for, look what Anaheim gave up for Pronger.

If the Rangers had Lupul, hed still be in the AHL and still waiting to make his NHL debut great way to prepare the future

Lampman/Baranka/Liffiton/Girardi first callups once d gets hurt or tired.
I don't like all the Hossa Hate. I think he has played really well the past couple of games. I've heard that Jagr has been teaching him how to protect the puck in the corners, and I think it's noticeable. I'd keep Hossa in the line up.
Ahh the Isles finally broke out of the 6 game losing streak. They played a good road game nothing great but a good game finally getting some scoring from someon other than Blake. DP played well. Rangers were sloppy at times. Problem is your not getting the top notch play from Lundquist like you got last year and w/ the shabby d this shows up. I see alot of get rid of this guy or that guy. You can't go crazy with a loss to the isles. Team rattled off 4 wins in a row prior to this. Ilses have a big test Thursday in Boston they have to win this game they just can;t beat the rangers and lose the next 5 or 6 just isn't gonna cut it. Man Renney was pissed in the post game never saw him that upset. Take care guys.

I hope to god our management realizes their true value and uses their inflated +/- as a selling point in a trade that sends them far away from here. To be honest Rosival doesn't bother me as much as Malik does. Rosy can at least skate. Malik is obsolete in the new NHL, he should be thrown on the scrap heap with the Darien Hatchers of the world.

i would too but if dawes and Callahan are ready, let them play. Id keep Hossa over Hall. Hall has not done anything. Im guessing Preds fans are happy he is gone
