I also agree, Juneau hasn't been playing that bad
Brisebois might be in my top list as well, his defensive play is much better lately

I agree with your bottom 5. Unfortunately we're stuck with all of them. We MIGHT be able to get rid of Quintal or Rivet but the others are worth nothing to anybody.

I would take out Ryder and put in Markov and honourable mention to Komisarik. As for worst i would include Briseboise.

Too early to put Koivu on top of the list; played 12 games, scored only once. Don't have his legs yet, still slow for a #1 center. Knees coming back I hope, a work-in-progress I hope.

My top five:
1. Theodore
2. Souray
3. Bulis
4. Zednik
5. Ryder

Honorable mentions: Bégin, Koivu, Brisebois, Ribs, Garon, Bouillon, Perreault, Langdon

Top worst:
1. Audette
2. Sundstrom
3. Rivet
4. Quintal
5. Kilger

Border line: Hossa, Markov, Hainsey, Juneau, Dackell, Komi, Dagenais, Ward

All 3 of your changes above make absolutely no sense. You must be ranking the 2002-2003 Canadiens, not the 2003-2004

You would take out Ryder and put in Markov? -- why? Ryder has been nothing but a pleasant surprise this year. It's so refreshing to see someone in a Habs jersey play with as much heart and grit as he does --every night. Markov -- why does he get placed in the top 5? He's been invisible of 95% of the games and certainly has not played as well as he has last year. Komisarek gets honourable mention for playing 4 games??

Finally, Brisebois on the other hand, has been been a totally different player this year. What an improvement! Even Jack Todd has him under his "heroes" list.

That's the point. If the list is a top five taking only the past 20 games into account, sure, Ryder gets the nod. But I would agree that Markov is well ahead of Ryder in terms of overall value to this team.

Habs best five players overall:

1. Theo
2. Saku
3. Zednik
4. Markov
5. Souray

Habs best five this year:

1. Souray
2. Theo
3. Zednik
4. Ribeiro
5. Ryder + Bulis (tie)

(Koivu = not enough games)

Habs five most valuable commodities:

1. Theo
2. Komisarek
3. Markov
4. Zednik
5. Higgins

According to the thread title, "Today's best and worst," I figured it to mean as it is today, these are the guys who are playing the best and the worst. Not in their whole careers. If that were the case, I'd throw in Juneau's glory years with Boston (what was it, 102 and 72 points from 92-94?), heck let's add Audette too... 79 points with Atlanta

so....

Best:
1. Juneau
2. Koivu
3. Audette
.
.
.
.
?
lol
