Will he no longer be seen as a one hit wonder by some? Some still say, hes had one good season and his first R.R. was a fluke and that he has to prove it again. Well hes doing just that right now.

Fact is, this guy is on fire and with a great rebound season. He is a top 5 gamebreaker. he can skate, hit, score pretty goals, great one timer too, energize your team, and so on. He can do it all, hes the complete package.

You guys beat me to it. Barring injury he is the clear favorite.

But about St. Louis, I think it is clear that the guy is far from a one-hit wonder.

He won a Hart, not a Richard.

Ryan Clowe is only 20 goals off the pace and he scored 5 goals in his last two games. He's clearly the top darkhorse candidate.

Glad to see him back in form. I was aifraid that he would be a one year wonder.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think only 1 non hall-of-famer won the Art Ross (non elligible players aside).

Anyone else find his to be one of the most underwhelming Hart/Art Ross campaigns...ever?

A fantastic season, no doubt...but there's been a few years where I would take the 2nd or 3rd place in the Hart voting over his 2004 season.

I think if anyone ever expects him to win either of those trophies again, they're overrating him. He's a great player, and certainly an allstar, but he's not in the very elite echelon of players like a Jagr, Crosby, Lidstrom, etc. He's not a one hit wonder unless you overrate him thusly.

I don't think he is a one-hit wonder no matter if he wins any trophies or not in the future.

Well on his way to his fourth straight 30 goal season, if that's a "one-year wonder" well there are a lot of guys who are no-hit wonders. Last year was a case of him trying to live up to the contract and accolades of 04. He looked like he was trying to do too much. To me he started to turn it around in the last two months of the year last year. This year he's back to the level he played at in 04. Not sure if he's an "elite" player, but he's played like one this year.

I semi agree with that. While St. Louis 2004 season wasn't the more flashy ever, he was gold to his team all season long. His numbers may be victim of the most defensive season of the dead-puck era. On another hand the lack of dominating players in 2004 seems evident. 3 players winning the Richard proves that. I think St-Louis just had a very good season in a really weak one.

He's probably a one hit wonder to some (he was for me) because he won those trophies. It is overating him to think he'll repeat, but those awards are fact that could put him in the overrated class but I think I understand what you mean.

BTW, did you take the picture in your avatar?

Who is disrespecting him? I saw this in the Pens/TB GDT a couple nights ago too and still don't get it. I still am not sure if he is a top ten player because I do not follow TB much at all, but he is 31, and never has broken 100 pts. He went from under 40 pts, to something like 70 to 90, then the strike and fell about a third, to 60 last year so I do not blame some for questioning if he is at the very top, though 60 pts. is nothing to sneeze at. His stats and his play from what little I have seen impress me as being in that tier just below top ten. I just do not see him at a Ovechkin/Crosby/Hossa/Jagr level. I am not sure if that would be taken as a slam on him, but it is not. He certainly is in that top grouping of players just below. Again, is thinking that a slam on him?

I think that if anything that Art Ross was most impressive because he was a puny guy playing against big guys during the dead-puck era.

But yeah, that year was a bit disappointing. 92-point Art Ross win.. 41 goal Rocket Richard winners (3-way ties suck too)

Heh, I wish. I just found it on the net. There's a few pictures around of Domi, Sundin, and Belfour getting trashed at some bar...probably 4 or 5 years ago.

It still stands as my favourite hockey picture ever. What a couple of awesome dudes.

Art Ross, yes. As far as Hart goes, personally, I think if you look at the season Brodeur is having, he should be the clear cut favourite.
