He's been arguably our best forward over the past couple games... this sucks.

Not surprised at all.

The scary part is Grabovski sent down, so Garth Murray will play......Was more expecting something like "Radek Bonk will play..."

It was to be expected. He should be a regular next year once he puts up a few pounds. The successor of Koivu in the making..

as much as id love him to stay, and yes he did a great job while here, he needs a lil more fine tuning.

Yeah, I figured he would be sent down when Bonk was feeling better as well. I really hope that the Habs keep the Higgins-Plekanec-Johnson line intact.

Maybe we'll see another try with Samsonov-Kovalev-Perezhogin?

Not surprised, lots to look forward too, would love to see him, I think FHF said if Lats can learn at the NHL level then why not Grabo, still, the team is in great shape.

So is he splitting up last game's checking unit now? Or is he moving Kovalev to C and bringing Perez up to that line?

I knew he was going to be sent down. But we now know that we have a capable 2nd line center for next season.

Not surprised at all, and.. nearly a good thing.
He was playing like a concussion-magnet out there.

I think I remember seeing Lapierre with the Ruskies in the 3rd, didn't know if that was just an incomplete line change or what.

Of course, we could try Murray as our 2nd line C.

Using the kids in spot duty is the sane way to bring them along as professional players, they get a taste of what's required to play in the NHL and hopefully they apply it in the minors which makes them better in the long run. IMO it's fantastic that the Habs finally have the organizational depth to be able to call up a kid who can not only play at the NHL, but compete (it's been a long time since I've been comfortable with a callup being in the lineup).

He obviously needs to gain a few pounds, he could hardly win any battle along the board. BUT He was so dominant with great combination of speed and great hands, he will be back once he get stronger.

Grabovski showed everyone what he could do.

How about this:

Lats Koivu Ryder
Higgins Pleks Johnson
Sam Laps Kovy
Streit Bonk Perez

He was brought up to give us some jump while the team recovered from the flu. Now that he's got a taste, he'll do even more to play his way back onto the team. There's nothing wrong with this move. You can't have 4 rookies in the starting 12, as some of you would like.

Now hopefully he'll work on protecting th puck along the boards. The last thing we need is another small, soft turnover machine. We're already dishing out $3.5 mil for one of them.

I like that Carbo sent Lapierre down after popping four goal in five games, but this time around keeps him up longer after he didn't score. Defence is what's going to keep him in the NHL, and he can't forget that. I've noticed an improvement in his physical play and determination in own zone this time around.

Grabovsky is flashy and without a doubt has premier NHL-level skills, but as stated he's far from a finished product, and was a concussion waiting to happen. He needs some weight, and he needs to learn to avoid the big collisions.

An expected and fully responsible move. Bonk will be back soon and Lapierre is probably going to stay. Lapierre did indeed play with the Russians in the third; someone more defensive minded is not a bad fit on that line.

For all the hype on young Grabovski, he had no points and was -2. (I'll credit him with the called-back goal though I guess)

Lapierre's actually scored real goals and looked capital-T Tough at times in the corners and along the boards. He's ready now; Grabovski not so much.

I'll like to point out that Plekanec, who's been both targeted and supported, have spent the his last 5 games making quite a name for himself offensively. He almost looked more comfortable on the 3rd line last night, but then again scored a nice PP goal the other day with the Russians. I'm happy with him finishing the year on Line 2 and Grabovski will have to push hard to claim that spot out of camp next year. In fact (and people don't wanna hear this) Grabovski may well not win that one. Just sayin' !!

But he's sure looked dangerous

I'll bet A.Kostitsyn is happy to have his present (and likely future) centre back too.

They should have sent down Sergei "Skating Around Master" Samsonov instead.

As some of you, I'm not surprised, but disappointed though, especially when Murray takes his spot.

yea its no suprise he is sent down.... bright future for the guy tho... i found he did have his head up a lot tho ... he made some nice moves.. jus thught he needs to be a lil more patient... the puck would slide of his stick easily...and he df needs to get a lil more sturdy on the skates... he falls down every shift.. but he will learn ..**** im excited about this kid!! and with the cap ... i dont thinkhe could stay regardless.. but think we would be better with him in the line up ..over murray .. hope lap stays up
