Hartford @ Portland 1/13/07

just turned the live B2 network feed on, start of the 2nd.

nice goal seconds after a PP by Byers from Callahan..

1-0 Pack

Dale Purinton in the pressbox calling the game with the regular play-by-play guy.

Heard an interview with Ryan Shannon (Portland/Ducks) during the intermission. He is, like Jessiman, from Darien, CT, and has known Hugh for a while. The interviewer asked him what he thought of Jessiman, in terms of his skills, his demotion to the ECHL and whether or not Hugh could regain his potential/game.

Shannon said something to the effect that Jessiman is a very, very hard worker and has a lot of "God given talent". Shannon is sure that Hugh will make it back to the AHL, and even though he said that Jessiman would make it to the NHL, he didn't sound too confident.

Montoya...

seems to be making a fair amount of quality saves in the third, still shutting out Portland.

sidenote: i kind of hate how the commentator changes his voice in a very awkward way when something "exciting" happens.

its interesting, this game is exciting yet i am not really seeing any quality talent shine through by many players in many plays..

Seeing the same, dank...

except for maybe Montoya.

Late penalty - haven't seen many penalties this game. The 'Pack need to hold them here...

eff, with the Portland goalie on the bench, the ref calls a weak crosschecking call on Lampman behind the Hartford net.

great, there goes the shutout AND now its tied at 1 with less than a minute to go. there was a lot of traffic in front of Montoya and there was pretty much nothing he could do.

It was a mess from the start...

odd faceoff, Immonen 'lost' it, but neither centerman seemed to touch it - with the extra guys on the ice, he would've had to have win that one clean. Baranka may've had a play on that one. Tough to see on a computer, but Brent seemed to be behind Baranka.

Dubinsky just had some smooth skating. went for a circle and a half around the goal, kept it for 10 seconds or so on his own. nothing came of it though, but good effort.

fletch, do you subscribe to the full season pass or just watch many ind. games?

That was nice by Dubi...

just couldn't control it to keep it in.

I subscirbe to the full season. Quality early on was horrible; it's gotten a lot better. It was impossible to watch some games due to the constant buffering.

Immonen..

needs to shoot more...he has a good shot, but looks to set-up Isbister and Dawes a lot.

Nice goals by Dawes and Immonen on the shootout. Dawes won the last game on a nice shot too.

Good win - still don't like the shootout - Morris doesn't deserve a loss.

Portland shooting first:

Genoway - MISSED, off the crossbar

Callahan - MISSED, nice deke, had the goalie, but lost the puck going to his forehand side

Shannon - MISSED. Poked away by Montoya after Shannon had a tough time settling the puck

Dawes- GOAL!. slowly and directly in on the goalie, takes a shot from 10 feet out and made it, stick side.

Skinner - MISSED. Beat Montoya, to the glove side, but missed the net entirely.

Immonen - GOAL! whipped in a hard shot from the left side.

Kenopka - GOAL.. deked a bit, shot and got the bottle to jump.

Dubinsky - MISSED. Pad save by the goalie on the stick side.

Miller - MISSED! Forced wide and missed it.

Wolfpack win in a shootout.

i really prefer the 5 vs. 5 shootout situation. makes its much better.
