Terrible 2nd period. only good thing was cammy's goal. seems like we were in our own zone the whole time. mmm

Sorry to say, but I think the Kings are due for a 3-5 game losing streak right about now.

Watching the Kings play defense as well as trying to break the puck out of the zone is like watching a poorly-coached pee wee team. The defense (and by defense I mean all five guys in the zone) is way too passive. I don't think they should start running around all over the place because they would get picked apart that way as well, but I think it's possible for them to be a little more proactive instead of waiting for the other team to do something. The Kings trying to break the puck out is an adventure, as well. As soon as there is any type of pressure, almost to a man, every Kings player with the puck will just turn and flip right to an opposing player. Every once in awhile they'll execute a good breakout, but that's a rare once in awhile.

Weren't we simply more aggressive in the first period anyway?

The Kings have only one scoring line. That's more than evident in this game. Guys like Avery, Armstrong and Conroy aren't playing anywhere near well enough to be considered top-6 players. This is and has been a real problem for the team all season.

Garon was doing very well until the Kings started spending more time in their own zone and giving the Sharks chance after chance. If the Kings had more offensive pressure (especially a 2nd scoring line), Garon would see fewer pucks and there would be fewer goals against like the ones that we've seen, as well as more goals for, of course.

Yeah they were, but that was more specifically in the offensive end. The team has always lacked in defensive aggresiveness in the defensive zone.

I've thought for a while that the Kings are the worst team in the league at clearing their own zone.

That was a good shift. Ron Wilson with a smart move by calling the time out. I was going to say the face off would be very important because the Sharks would be dead tired from the previous shift, but that doesn't matter now.

Yeah it's been like that for several years now, huh? I honestly thought that would change with Crawford coming in, but unfortunately it hasn't. I just fail to comprehend how this group of professional hockey players, who have played hockey for so long, turn into pee wees when they get the puck in their own zone.

I was watching the San Jose feed of the game......and they are trying to make it sound like Kopitar was intentionally trying to injury Vlasak when he checked him into the boards. Because we all know that Anze is a dirty player.

Man, if Brown had been able to get that cross ice pass in Kopitar's wheel house, I have no doubt that would have been a goal.

Marty McSorley would know all about intent to injure.

Good shift again with the kopitar line... I think they just need to play iron man hockey now with that line. Everyone else stinks.

No...if Kopitar gets any more than his usual 6-7 shifts per game, he's useless.

I like how the commentators are trying to make the game out to be San Jose just willing a win here, but we're stinking out loud. No way the Sharks should be up 4-1 right now.

I really don't care if the Kings lose the rest of the games this season. Just as long as the young guys improve.

I clapped for sure when I saw that. Great for Kopitar, really great for Push. Kid just needs to keep getting points, show some of our docile veterans how to do it.

*cough* Conroy *cough*

To be fair, he's not exactly playing with high-powered, offensive linemates, but he's not doing anything to help himself.
