The Hockey News Mid Season Reports

Quote:
New York Rangers

Star Pupils: Jaromir Jagr, pointmaker (he’s well on his way to another 100-point season);

Remedial Work: Their play at even strength is well below the league average; so is the play of sophomore goalie Henrik Lundqvist (.899 save percentage).

Principal’s Office: Adam Hall, the lone Blueshirts forward with a double-digits minus ranking (minus-13).
Looks like other people know Adam Hall is a waste.. Under remedial work, it should be the entire defense and Malik in principals office. Star pupil = Martin Straka.

I wonder if Sather showed up to the parent-teacher conference.

If they held it in Phoenix, he'd be there.

These "Mid Season Reports" look like they took 3 seconds to be thrown together just to fill some web space.

Did that "report" take all of 27 seconds to put together. Glad they put a lot of thought into it

Agreed. While Lundqvist is having his issues this year, the team clearly is not playing nearly as well in front of him as they did last year. There are games where he can and will steal one for you, but he can't do it every night.

Which is exactly what the blurb says:
"Their [the team's] play at even strength is well below the league average; so is the play of sophomore goalie Henrik Lundqvist"

Shanahan IMO has been our best player so far this year, though I think Jagr will be will step it up in the second half of the season as he gains strength in that surgically repaired shoulder. Shanny fights, gives a shorthanded threat dimension to our penalty kill, SCORES GOALS , hits, drops the gloves and continues to show toughness AND skill (something that noone else team can claim). Shanny has been a godsend in EVERY conceivable way!
