believable?

I heard from a decent source (inside) that Forsberg is gone ASAP.
No word on the WHERE - but the why is contract squabbling and injury.

thoughts? BS?

(no link cause this is a word of mouth thang - all new to me, so i figgered get opinions and at worst see how reliable some connections are)

Well, they're going to want a link. FWIW, it's from a good poster and not some noob, like usual.

I'd personally have Forsberg rest up as much as possible, then try and trade him closer to the deadline.

ANOTHER FORSBERG TRADE RUMOUR.

RDA.CA: Yvon Pedneault reports Philadelphia Flyers forward Peter Forsberg is on the trade block and interested teams should start making offers soon to avoid the bidding for his services going too high.

Spector's Note: Hat tip to "David". If Forsberg were healthy the bidding would indeed be high. Given his injury woes this season, however, I don't think too many GMs will be willing to bid high for damaged goods.

While I think many teams will still be interested, I hope he ends up in Atlanta. I believe - if healthy - he is the Cup difference for the Thrashers... and I'd be curious to watch him and Kovalchuck give and go.

The injury concern i get but contract squabbling? Forsberg wants 7 mill next year or something?

Forsberg has a NTC, so he determines where he wants to go, if he wants to go anywhere.

If Forsberg was open to being traded, I do it. And I wouldn't wait til the deadline because he could be crippled by then. Take what you can get now.

They probably want him to commit to a contract now, but Peter has said he wants to hold off for awhile.

According to our favourite Timmy, Forsberg has told him he doesn't want to be traded and won't accept a trade. He's embarassed by his play and doesn't want to go anywhere but home after this season to fix his foot and make decisions.

That makes zero sense. So if he plans on going home to fix his foot after this season, why would he even be hanging around here now playing for a team everyone knows is going nowhere? That's is completely assanine.

Agree, if Forsberg want to do something for the Flyers, he'll either resign cheap (max. 3 million) before the deadline or waive his NTC so the Flyers can get something good from/for him.

He says he wants his own doctors to check him out. I dunno.

There was a "strong" rumor mentioned on HF that Forsberg would be traded "within 48 hours". That was about two months ago.

Swedes doctors know more about foot then USA doctors?

If anyone wants Forsberg to play and fix his foot problem... it's us.

I agree. Perhaps he has more confidence in his own doctors since they made his groin feel better last year? Again, I don't know.

If he will wave his NTC I would trade him even if all we got by the deadline was a bag of pucks. We are going nowhere this year and something is better than nothing thing.

Your source is about as good as every rumor website relating to the NHL.

Why you say that. Put him on a team where he has a chance to win a championship, and we can get some good prospects out for him. Saves us a ton on the cap too.
